PrimeServ Addresses Spares Availability

Diesel PrimeServ, a new integrated, company-wide organization combining the after-sales activities of all the products of the whole MAN Diesel group. The new after-sales organization has rapidly taken steps to develop all aspects of its activities. In the area of spare parts supply, measures have been taken to respond to a continuing boom in engine sales which is already increasing spares demand. At the same time, MAN Diesel PrimeServ has increased and optimized its spares inventories on the basis of delivery statistics. To address customer demand, the PrimeServ organization rapidly increased its number of hubs – 11 were established in 2006 and as many as 20 further locations are foreseen.

Shipyard Contract Signed

Nautilus Minerals Inc. announced that the Jan De Nul Group has signed the shipbuilding contract with La Naval, in Sestao Northern Spain for the construction of Jules Verne a 191 m vessel to be used as the ship for Nautilus's deep sea copper and gold mining project, the Solwara 1 Project, located in the waters near Papua New Guinea. Shipyard Contract Signed

Nautilus Minerals Inc. said that the Jan De Nul Group has signed the shipbuilding contract with La Naval, in Sestao Northern Spain for the construction of Jules Verne, a 626-ft. vessel to be used as the ship for Nautilus's deep sea copper and gold mining project, the Solwara 1 Project, located in the waters near Papua New Guinea. This contract follows the commencement of manufacturing for the key components of the ship which included the award of five 4500 kW main diesel engines to the MAN Diesel Group in November 2006, dynamic positioning thrusters to Wartsila Nederland B.V on 19 January 2007 and rudder propellers to SCHOTTEL-Antriebstechnik GmbH on 15 February 2007.

MAN Diesel Becomes a European Company

The conversion of MAN B&W Diesel AG into a European Company (Societas Europaea, or SE for short) has been successfully concluded. At the same time the company will change its name into MAN Diesel SE, headquartered in Augsburg, Germany. By adopting SE status, the Executive Board intends to make the Diesel Engine Division of the MAN Group an even more international player showing a single face to the customer. At the same time, in order to better organize the working of its committees, the Supervisory Board , which is made up of an international team headed by Håkan Samuelsson, has been reduced from twelve to ten members, The Supervisory Board’s parity structure between the capital and the employee side will remain unchanged.

MAN Diesel Officially a European Company

The conversion of MAN B&W Diesel AG into a European Company (Societas Europaea, or SE for short) was concluded on August 31. At the same time the company will change its name into MAN Diesel SE, headquartered in Augsburg, Germany. By adopting SE status, the Executive Board intends to make the Diesel Engine Division of the MAN Group an even more international player showing a single face to the customer. In order to better organize the working of its committees, the Supervisory Board, which is made up of an international team headed by Håkan Samuelsson, has been reduced from 12 to 10 members, The Supervisory Board’s parity structure between the capital and the employee side will remain unchanged. Employee co-determination will be organised on a cross-border basis in future, too.
