LNG Offshore Mega-Project Contract for Phusion

UK headquartered Phusion appointed as Data Management Contractor (DMC) for the INPEX-led Ichthys LNG Mega-Project. The six-year contract is worth £11.5 million (AUD17.6m). The deal extends Phusion’s growing portfolio in Australia where the company is already engaged on the giant Chevron Gorgon project. Phusionwill assist INPEX by efficiently managing enormous amounts of engineering data associated with the Ichthys LNG Project. This will result in substantially reduced costs and ensure the timely hand over of comprehensive sets of information to the Ichthys Operations team. This unique approach to the way data is collected on the project will replace the traditional “handover” stage when, traditionally, huge amounts of data are delivered to the client.

Aker Solutions ASA: Q3 2012 Results

Aker Solutions' operating revenues were NOK 11 158 million in the third quarter of 2012. Year-to-date revenues are 32 percent higher than in the first nine months of 2011. Quarterly earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) amounted to NOK 1,122 million with a margin of 10.1 percent. "The quarter can be summarized in three headlines: continued stable operational performance, strong order intake and a number of breakthrough contracts," said Øyvind Eriksen, executive chairman of Aker Solutions. The order intake in the quarter was NOK 16.9 billion. Order backlog at the end of the quarter stood at NOK 59.7 billion, an increase of 44 percent from the beginning of the year.

Aker Solutions Selected as Contractor for Brunei

Aker Solutions helps extend the life of the fields offshore Brunei. Aker Solutions has been selected as the management contractor for Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Sdn Bhd's (BSP) offshore construction and maintenance services. The contract runs for five years and has an estimated value of over NOK 2.3 billion. As the management contractor Aker Solutions will be responsible for managing the construction and maintenance work for BSP's offshore assets, and transferring competence to enable local businesses to gradually assume responsibility for the work. Aker Solutions Helps Extend Life of Brunei Offshore Oil Fields

Aker Solutions named as management contractor for Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Sdn Bhd's (BSP) offshore construction and maintenance services. The contract in Brunei, East Asia, is worth over NOK 2.3 billion, and is for a duration of five years with an option of two additional years. The work for BSP will commence immediately and the first offshore campaign managed by Aker Solutions in Brunei is scheduled for 2013. As the management contractor Aker Solutions will be responsible for managing the construction and maintenance work for BSP's offshore assets, and transferring competence to enable local businesses to gradually assume responsibility for the work. Local business development will be a priority.

Australian Wind & Wave Energy Platform a World First

The triangular shaped Energy Island will comprise six oscillating water column (OWC) wave energy devices and an offshore wind turbine assembly and will be capable of generating up to 10 megawatts of power. It is envisaged that six or more Energy Islands may be linked together to create an Energy Farm, which is estimated could supply power to 16,500 Australian households per year. Wood Group Kenny's initial eight-month scope of work under the contract will be carried out in two parts. The first part will involve a data gathering exercise covering a wide range of environmental and technical issues, and the second part will involve conceptual study work to define the layout and configuration of the overall Energy Island assembly.

EPC Offshore Wins Hurricane Field Contract

Project management contractor EPC Offshore has won a major contract to select the optimum concept for the development of Hurricane’s  Lancaster Field, one of the most significant oil discoveries in the West of Shetlands in recent years. Hurricane has a 100 per cent holding in the field and has a CPR (competent person’s report) indicating 2C Contingent Resources of over 200 mmbbl of recoverable oil. The year-long contract, worth approximately £2 million, is one of the largest projects the Aberdeen-based contractor has secured to date.

TWMA Wins Waste Management Contract Offshore W. Africa

Environmental waste management contractor TWMA has won its first offshore service contract in West Africa, signifying its intention to expand its business in this important region. The contract was awarded by AGR Petroleum Services and is worth around $1.6m over six months. It covers supply, installation and operation of an integrated drilling waste management solution. TWMA will provide a range of solids control technologies to AGR for its drilling campaign in the Hyperdynamics' concession offshore the Republic of Guinea.
