Murray Selected to Lead ICoTA

Oil and gas industry body, the Intervention & Coiled Tubing Association (ICoTA) European Chapter, has appointed Former vice-chair Kelly Murray as the new chair and vice-chair. Murray will be the first women to take the helm as chair of the organization in the chapter’s 20-year history, while fellow committee member Andrew Louden has been appointed as the new vice-chair. Murray becomes chair after spending five years as an ICoTA committee member where she has played a pivotal role increasing awareness of the organization within the industry and the wider community.

Stork Technical Services held its second REACHing Out forum as the company aims to improve safety engagement with its employee community, customers and wider oil and gas industry. More than 70 business leaders and safety experts from across the UK attended the thought leadership event which was held at the Marcliffe Hotel, Aberdeen. Erik-Jan Bijvank, SVP – UK & Africa, said, “REACHing Out delivered on our key aims for the event – to engage with our peers, generate meaningful discussion and develop new relationships to improve safety.

Well Abandoment in the Spotlight at ICoTA Event

The challenges facing well abandonment in a mature province will be the focus of the latest lunch and learn session hosted by leading oil and gas industry body ICoTA European Chapter in Aberdeen on Tuesday, September 18. Representatives from TAM International will start the event with a presentation on how inflatable technology has been successfully used for well abandonment and deployed on slick line, coiled tubing and drill pipe, followed by a presentation on innovation in abandonment services by Baker Hughes.

International oilfield service company Expro has received a special award for exceptional safety, health and environment performance from Total E&P UK. The Expro offshore team who work for Total on the Dunbar project were announced winners of the Managing Director’s special award at the Total E&P UK SHE (Safety, Health and the Environment) award ceremony at the Marcliffe Hotel, Aberdeen. Expro was also shortlisted for the Dunbar Award for Improving Safety in recognition of its outstanding effort in achieving 2,000 days without a Lost Time Incident (LTI) on Dunbar.
