Glosten is an employee-owned full-service consulting firm of naval architects, marine engineers, electrical engineers, and ocean engineers. Founded in 1958, the firm specializes in commercial and public sector vessels including research vessels, passenger/car ferries, tugs, barges, dredges, and special purpose platforms. Consulting and design services include hull, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems design. Glosten has a staff of 77 associates, including 36 professionally licensed engineers, supported by other engineers, marine designers, and production staff.

MTU Series 4000 Engines ABS NVR Certified

As the first engines in its power class the MTU Series 4000 was recently awarded Naval Vessel Rules (NVR) certification by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). The new ABS NVR certification, a requirement for the U.S. Coast Guard’s Fast Response Cutter (FRC) program, was awarded after 1,500 hours of testing of the 20V 4000 M73 that included extensive run times at 110% of the engine’s rated power in a variety of extreme environmental conditions. Comark Marine Displays Approved for Navy

Comark Announces MDU42 Large Screen Marine Display Passes Military Testing. Comark Corporation, a leader in the design and manufacture of ruggedized computer and display solutions for the marine and military markets, announced the availability of the MIL Certified MDU42. This 42” Marine Display Unit successfully passed MIL-STD 901D, Grade A, Medium Weight Testing; MIL-STD 167- class 1, type A; MIL-STD-810F; and MIL-STD-461E. These certifications are standard requirements for equipment used on Navy Surface ships.

Comark Receives ABS Type Approval

 47” Series of MDU Marine Display

Comark Corporation, a leader in the design and manufacture of ruggedized computer solutions for the marine, military, and commercial markets, has received Type Approval on their 47” Series of MDU Marine Displays from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). Type Approval is given to products for marine and offshore applications that are designed and tested, and can be consistently manufactured, to meet IEC 60945 Standards for Maritime Navigation and Radio Communication Equipment and Systems.

Comark Introduces 23-in LED Display

Comark Corporation announced the availability of the MDU23, a 23-in UXGA LED backlit display, which can be set at up to 400 NITS at full brightness. The MDU23 has been tested in accordance with IEC 60945, and is ECDIS and ECDIS-N compliant. In addition, it is fully MIL Tested to MIL-STD 901D grade A, MIL-STD 167- class 1, type A; MIL-STD-810F; and MILSTD-461E. The MDU23 features a machined aluminum bezel, conformal coating on all electronics and is available with an optional touchscreen.

Comark Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of ruggedized custom computer solutions for the marine and military markets, expanded its portfolio of computer solutions by announcing the availability of the Rugged 5-Slot 2U Rackmount Chassis. The 2U Rackmount Chassis offers high-speed Core 2 Duo Quad processing, 16GB RAM, dual hot swappable drives, a hot swappable power supply, and a DVD/CD-RW drive. It is designed with a black steel case, aluminum front panel, and a locking front door that protects the power switch and 2 USB ports.
