Offshore Ship Designers Changes Its Name to OSD-IMT

The Netherlands based naval architecture and marine engineering firm Offshore Ship Designers (OSD) announced it has changed its company name to OSD-IMT.The company said the name change aims to leverage the strength of both OSD and IMT. IMT is the signature brand-name for vessels designed by OSD’s U.K. branch, which was already named OSD-IMT. Faulkner Joins Braemar SA as Manager

Braemar (incorporating The Salvage Association) has appointed David Faulkner as ‘Manager, Ports and Harbours (Middle East)’. David is a Master Mariner and pilot and will be based in the Braemar SA Abu Dhabi office. He has extensive experience in providing specialist port consultancy services on aspects such as vessel manoeuvring, navigation, VTS (vessel traffic service) and marine risk, as well as providing expert opinion services to the insurance and legal markets on navigation, unsafe berth and unsafe port cases. David has worked for many years in the Middle East and will be responsible for the development of Braemar SA’s Ports & Harbours consultancy services in this market.

Maid of the Loch: Historic Rebuild Deal Signed

The first contract to be let in the £5.5 million project to rebuild the Maid of the Loch, Loch Lomond’s Paddle Steamer, was signed on Monday, February 22, 2016. The contract has been awarded to OSD-IMT Ltd., of Dundee, and is for marine consultancy services. OSD will provide the necessary naval architecture, engineering, structure, and outfitting expertise to produce all the required calculations, drawings and designs to ensure that the rebuild meets all regulatory requirements.
