Integrity Machining Completes Acquisition of the Assets of JK Fabrication

Research Vessel Delivered to Orca Maritime

Washington-based boat builder Armstrong Marine said it has delivered a new 42’ x 16’ catamaran research vessel, Benthic Cat, to Orca Maritime, Inc. following launch and sea trials in Port Angeles Harbor. MHI-MS, Jiangsu Masada Ink Boxship Crane Deal

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Mechatronics Systems has concluded a licensing agreement with Jiangsu Masada Heavy Industries for the manufacturing and sale of hose handling cranes and slim deck cranes for container ships. The license granted to Jiangsu Masada follows similar agreements in 2008 for deck cranes of bulk carriers and in 2012 for deck machinery and steering gears. This further broadening of Jiangsu Masada's product lineup will expand the market share for marine machinery utilizing MHI group technologies in China, the world's largest market for marine vessel construction. The hose handling cranes subject to this licensing agreement comprise three series, with hoisting loads of 10 tons, 15 tons, and 20 tons, which are fitted mainly on MR tankers and larger vessels.

Harding Sold to Palfinger

The PALFINGER Group has signed today the acquisition of 100 per cent of the shares in Herkules Harding Holding AS and thus, the globally operating Harding Group. The seller is the Norwegian private equity fund Herkules. Harding is one of the leading suppliers of lifesaving equipment and lifecycle services for maritime installations and ships. Through this acquisition, PALFINGER will add new products and an international service network to its marine business. The final closing of this acquisition of Harding by PALFINGER is contingent on the approval of the authorities. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. MHI Licenses Steering Gear and Deck Machinery to Jiangsu Masada

Tokyo - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI) has signed an agreement with Jiangsu Masada Heavy Industries Co Ltd., in Jiangsu Province, China, under which MHI is to license production and marketing of steering gears and deck machinery, based on company technology to Jiangsu Masada. Previously, in 2008, MHI licensed deck crane technology to Jiangsu Masada - then known as Nantong Masada Ship Machinery Co. Ltd. With the latest licensing agreement, Jiangsu Masada will now be able to establish a structure for providing hydraulic marine machinery in combination to its customers…

Coastal Marine Expands in Brazil

Coastal Marine Equipment has extended its presence into the Brazilian marketplace by teaming with Macnor Marine and Macnor Services to assist in equipment sales and service. This relationship has proven successful as Coastal Marine has been awarded the deck equipment for two Oil Spill Response Vessels’ being built in Brazil at EISA Shipyard. Each vessel will receive an ABS approved anchor windlass, two capstans and two tuggers. The equipment will be engineered, manufactured and tested at Coastal Marine’s facility located on eleven acres in Gulfport, MS. They currently manufacture a complete line of marine deck equipment including anchor windlasses, capstans, towing winches, mooring winches, anchor winches, reels, spud winches, stern rollers, tow pins and rescue boat davits.

Coastal Marine Equipment on LCS

Coastal Marine Equipment is continuing its success in supplying marine deck equipment for government and military projects with the latest being equipment for Austal USA’s Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) program. This is in conjunction with Austals’ Joint High Speed Vessels (JHSV) program and Bollinger Shipyard’s Fast Response Cutters (FRC) program which are propelling Coastal Marine to be the leading deck equipment manufacturer for our military. In addition with these multi vessel contracts, Coastal Marine is supplying equipment for the NOAA Fisheries Survey Vessel (FSV) and Alaska Region Research Vessel (ARRV) being constructed at Marinette Marine, T-AGS 66 Oceanographic Survey Ship and TAGM-25 Missile Range Instrumentation Ship being constructed by VT Halter Marine.

Chinese MHI Licensee’s First Marine Deck Crane

Nantong Masada Ship Machinery Co., Ltd., a Chinese company located in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, to which Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) licensed its marine deck crane technology, has completed production and delivery of its first MHI-licensed product. Delivery was taken by Jiangsu Hantong Ship Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., a major local shipbuilder. Nantong Masada aims to increase deck crane production in response to rapidly growing demand arising from a sharp increase in local construction of cargo ships, including bulk carriers.
