Reygar, Actisense Enhance Fleet Monitoring Solution

Marine innovation company Reygar has partnered with Actisense, a manufacturer of specialist marine electronics, to enhance the capability of Reygar’s BareFLEET remote fleet monitoring system. BareFLEET offers comprehensive measurement capabilities, as well as simple and concise vessel performance, health, motion and fuel efficiency information reported back to fleet operators. This helps them reduce fleet operating costs and evidence savings and vessel activity to their customers.

Imtech Marine Introduces the New Furuno RHRS 2014

Furuno and Imtech Marine have jointly developed an innovative product for inland waterway shipping. The RHRS 2014 river radar is a revolutionary color radar, unique in the inland shipping market is the mouse control, which makes this radar very user-friendly. It also offers maximum safety thanks to a black box with two SD cards for 24 hours of storage of radar images. The RHRS 2014 replaces the RHRS 2005, which is now being used on more than 4,000 inland waterway ships. The RHRS 2014 is approved by the  Wasser- und Schifffahrtsverwaltung des Bundes for inland waterway shipping in Europe.

Curtis-Straus Offers Marine Testing

Curtis-Straus LLC (subsidiary of Bureau Veritas) is working together with expert bodies in ship classification to test marine electronic products, including International Association of Classification Societies Ltd. (IACS) E-10, typically used for control, protection and safety, and internal communication equipment. For the purposes of Type Approval, several members of the IACS can accept testing results in accordance with the relevant marine testing standards from Curtis-Straus LLC; in most cases without the need for a Surveyor to witness the testing.   Curtis-Straus, an A2LA accredited Nationally Recognized Test Laboratory, offers testing for EMC, Environmental and Safety certification at its expanded Littleton, Massachusetts laboratory.
