Severn Trent De Nora's OMNIPURE Systems Get USCG Approval

The new OMNIPURE™ Series 55/64 marine sewage treatment systems from Severn Trent De Nora have received final certification from the United States Coast Guard (USCG) to the International Maritime Organization’s Resolution MEPC.227(64) effluent standards. Currently, only a limited number of marine wastewater treatment technologies meet the new MEPC.227(64) standard, which enters into force 1 January 2016. Certification of the OMNIPURE Series 55/64 by the USCG involved testing rigorous environmental standards above and beyond IMO requirements. The OMNIPURE Series 55/64 systems are the only marine sewage treatment systems that oxidize sewage in an electrochemical cell as well as generate sodium hypochlorite for the disinfection of the sewage streams.
