Maritime Craft Services Expands Workboat Fleet with Damen's Multi Cat 2712

Damen Shipyards has delivered one of its Multi Cats to workboat specialist Maritime Craft Services (Clyde) Ltd. The 27-meter Multi Cat 2712 is a mid-range model in the 13-strong class and Damen builds them in series to meet the consistent demand for vessels of this size and capability, the Dutch shipbuilder said.Based on the Firth of Clyde on the west coast of Scotland, Maritime Craft Services (MCS) operates a fleet of 17 workboats, of which 13 have been built by Damen. Workboat Industry Sets Out to Accelerate Decarbonization

Turner Iceni Adds Two Vessels

UK-based renewable energy vessel specialist Turner Iceni has acquired two new boats – MCS Maestro and Don Quixote - that now will be refitted for work later this year.MCS Maestro, a 18m South Boat, was purchased from Maritime Craft Services. The vessel will be refitted with Volvo IPS 900, shot blasted and repainted in Turner Iceni livery. Interior modifications include a new galley and updated nav comms. Don Quixote, a 20m South Boat built in 2009, was purchased from Vroon. She will be re-engined with 1400hp MAN and Hamilton 651 jets which will have the new AVX control system and jet anchor. Four New Crew Boats for Allianz

Damen Shipyards Group has delivered four new Fast Crew Suppliers (FCS) 2610 to Allianz Middle East Ship Management. The four vessels will undertake work in the ADMA oil field in Abu Dhabi, providing logistics services and safe crew transfer, as part of a five-year contract awarded to ADNOC LS and ADNOC Offshore. Allianz Middle East Ship Management, MCS Join Forces

Allianz Middle East Ship Management and Maritime Craft Services (MCS)have taken delivery of a Damen Fast Crew Supplier 2610. Demonstrating the cooperative relationship between the two companies, the new vessel will offer safe and cost efficient crew transfer services for up to 50 passengers to and from the Abu Dhabi oil fields.The two companies welcomed guests on board the new vessel in a festive celebration during this year’s Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC). Business associates and clients were given a tour on board the vessel at the Emirates Palace Marina. “We are very proud to see another FCS 2610 enter service in the Middle East oil and gas industry,” states Damen Sales Manager Middle East Teun Haverkort.

First Damen Multi Cat 3013 Delivered to MCS

Maritime Craft Services (Clyde) Ltd has taken delivery of its first Damen Multi Cat 3013. Based in Fairlie, Ayrshire, the Scottish company is one of the largest operators of Damen vessels in the world, with 14 in its fleet. This order also represents an important milestone for Damen as it is the first vessel to be built at Damen Shipyards Sharjah, which opened in 2014. Managing Director of Maritime Craft Services, Menno Kuyt, comments: “This latest vessel fills a gap in our fleet, we were looking for a larger vessel, particularly with more crane capacity for dredging support work and Damen can make this happen very quickly!” MCS ordered the Damen Multi Cat 3013, now named MCS ELLY II on April 28 and it was delivered on May 27, less than a month later.

Damen Delivers Shoalbuster to MCS in 8 Days

Maritime Craft Services (MCS) recently took delivery of a new Damen Shoalbuster 2609. Damen has delivered numerous Crew Transfer Vessels, Multicats, and Shoalbusters to MCS – the two companies have a long-standing relationship. What is notable about this latest delivery, however, is the incredibly short timeframe involved. MCS owner Dirk Kuijt and Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld managing director Jos van Woerkum signed the contract on March 12, and just eight days later, MCS took delivery.

Three Damen Twin Axe Fast Crew Suppliers En Route to MCS

Three more Damen Twin Axe Fast Crew Suppliers are on their way to Maritime Craft Services (Clyde) Ltd and are expected to arrive in Europe in early May. Based in Largs, Ayrshire, MCS ordered three Twin Axe FCS 2610s, just months after taking delivery of its first two catamarans. All of the vessels are deployed in supporting offshore wind farms and in maintenance activities. With more than 30 years experience, the Scottish family firm operates a 19-strong fleet of tugs and workboats internationally and already has several Damen vessels including Multi Cats and Shoalbusters.

Maritime Craft Services (Clyde) Ltd has ordered three more Damen Twin Axe Fast Crew Suppliers just months after taking delivery of its first FCS 2610 catamarans. Based in Largs, Ayrshire (UK), MCS signed for three Twin Axes in November. The vessels will be delivered in the first quarter 2013. With more than 30 years of experience, the Scottish firm operates a 16-strong fleet of tugs and workboats internationally and already has several Damen vessels including Multi Cats, Shoalbusters and Dredge Helpers.

Maritime Craft Services takes delivery of MCS Pampero

A Scottish maritime company has taken delivery of a second Twin Axe Design offshore wind farm support vessel. MCS Pampero, sister vessel to MCS Sirocco which joined the fleet in June, was handed over to Maritime Craft Services in Singapore and will go straight to work in NW Europe from mid-December. They join crew transfer vessels MCS Zephyr and MCS Maestro South Boat catamarans which were acquired last year. The Largs-based company also announced it is to invest €11m in a further three Damen Twin Axe Design FCS 2610s which will be delivered in March…

The vessels are built to UK flag and certified to MA Category 1. Built by South Boats Special Projects Ltd., the vessels are configured with an off centre wheelhouse providing a 34m2 forward deck capable of carrying up to 8 tonnes of construction and O & M equipment.

Blount Boats to Manufacture US-flagged Catamarans

Blount Boats, Inc. has been appointed by South Boats Special Projects, Ltd., based at Cowes on the Isle of Wight, England, to be the exclusive shipyard to manufacture U.S. flagged aluminum catamarans of South Boats designs for the U.S. wind farm industry. Blount Boats operates a shipyard in Warren, Rhode Island. South Boats is recognized as a pioneer in designing and manufacturing wind farm service vessels. Their shipyard has built 45 vessels in five classes, from 15M – 30 meters, representing a 50% market share in European wind farms that are serviced by 13 operators, including Turbine Transfers Ltd. (Holyhead Towing Company), Iceni Marine Services Ltd., Northern Offshore Services AB, MPI Workboats, Ltd. (Vroon Group BV), Maritime Craft Services and MTS Group.
