Wilson Sons Names New CEO of Operations in Brazil
Brazilian maritime logistics and port operator Wilson Sons has accepted the resignation of Cezar Baião from the position of CEO of Operations in Brazil, effective from March 5, 2021. The company has this week said that its board has accepted the nomination and decided to appoint Fernando Fleury Salek as CEO of Operations in Brazil.Salek has acted as CFO of the company's Brazilian subsidiaries and Head of Investors Relations for the past five years. He is an economist having graduated from PUC-Rio with a specialization in Corporate Finance, International Finance, and Marketing.
Brazil's Wilson Sons Report Strong Q3 2012 EBITDA
Port & maritime logistics services providers Wilson Sons Ltd. records record EBITDA of US$ 47.4-million in the third quarter of 2012. The Company recorded Net Revenues of USD 157.5-million and record EBITDA of USD 47.4-million in the third quarter of 2012. "This quarter results confirm the consistency and robustness of our business plan. Despite a period of macroeconomic uncertainty, the Company generated very strong operating cash flow" said Cezar Baiao, CEO of Operations in Brazil. The drop in revenues is mainly a result of the depreciation of the average BRL rate, as well as the end of a temporary Petrobras operation with Brasco, and discontinuation of dedicated operations in the logistics business.
WSS Expands Network in China
Wilhelmsen Ships Service has opened a new full service office in Ningbo, providing a comprehensive range of ships agency and maritime logistics services. The company now has five offices in mainland China. “Our strategy has been to strengthen our network across China in order to be present where our customers are operating,” said Captain Bi Yuping – General Manager of WSS Ships Agency & Maritime Logistics China. “The office expansion is aimed at providing the same level of service in China as we offer at all WSS offices throughout the world. Wilhelmsen Ships Service is preparing to move to Phase 2 of its recently launched Ships Spares Logistics (SSL) – “First Mile to Last Mile” offer, a service which provides a single point of contact for managing the delivery of spare parts from manufacturer to vessel, with total visibility on data and associated prices. Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) appointed Russell Dinwoodie as General Manager for the company’s operations in Kuwait. Russell’s focus will be on maintaining leading market share in the region and growing its latest projects, the globally standardized Ships Agency Redefined and Ships Spares Logistics initiatives. He will also be responsible for developing product sales, which include the company’s Unitor brand of products, to vessel operators and owners in Kuwait.
