A U.S. Coast Guard Station Fort Pierce 33-foot Special Purpose Craft—Law Enforcement boat and a 23-foot pleasure craft with five people aboard were involved in a collision Saturday near Manatee Pocket, in Florida.As a result of the collision, the pleasure craft began taking on water and became submerged in the channel.The people aboard the pleasure craft were embarked by the Coast Guard boat crew and taken to Sandsprit Park.One person from the pleasure craft was reported to be injured and was transported to Martin County Memorial Hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported.

The US Army Corps of Engineers (ACE) receives funding for various Florida dredging projects to restore pre-Sandy condition. As a follow-up to a recent announcement regarding the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarding funding to restore Fort Pierce Beach and the Martin County shore to their pre-Hurricane Sandy conditions, Congressman Patrick E. Murphy (FL-18) has further informed that the Army Corps has also allocated funds to begin engineering and design activities to prepare for dredging the Fort Pierce Inlet and the St. Lucie Inlet to respond to shoaling impacts from Hurricane Sandy. Floridian Natural Gas Storage Company (FGS) has filed an application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to build and operate a liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage facility in Martin County, Fla. The facility would be located on approximately 145 acres at the site of the former Florida Steel manufacturing facility about two miles (3 km) north of Indiantown. The project would include the initial construction of one nominal 190,000 cubic meter (6.7 MMcf) LNG storage tank, liquefaction systems, vaporization systems and two parallel pipelines, one to receive gas and one to send out gas, both approximately four miles (6.4 km) in length…
