Royal Caribbean Wins Marine Environment Protection Award

At the North American Marine Environment Protection Association’s annual Awards dinner, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. (which includes Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises), the world’s second largest cruise company, was the recipient of NAMEPA’s 2011 Marine Environment Protection Award. The award was presented following NAMEPA’s seminar on Corporate Risk Management, which focussed on the need of the maritime industry to evaluate risk in a challenging operating environment. NAMEPA Present Award to U.S. Coast Guard

September 21, 2009 Clay Maitland, Founding Chairman of the North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA), announced that the United States Coast Guard is the recipient of NAMEPA’s 2009 Marine Environment Protection Award. The award will be presented at NAMEPA’s Awards Dinner to be held in New York in conjunction with the 2009 World Maritime Day Parallel Event on October 16th. Livanos to be Remembered at World Maritime Day Event

Livanos; and his protégés will pay tribute to their mentor at the first North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) Awards Dinner being held in conjunction with the 2008 World Maritime Day Observance on October 23rd. NAMMA and NAMEPA to Host World Maritime Day Observance in NY

Organized by the North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) and the North American Maritime Ministry Association (NAMMA), World Maritime Day Observance will be held in on October 23th at the Union League Club. This event will be the third World Maritime Day Observance held in the United States, which will be hosting the parallel World Maritime Day event in 2009. This year’s theme is “IMO: 60 years in the service of shipping”, which follows previous years’ focus on environmental issues. NAMEPA joins the North American Maritime Ministry Association in hosting the event which commences with a worship service at Church of our Saviour on , followed by a luncheon presentation of NAMMA’s annual Seafarer Salute and Joe Gerson Humanitarian Awards at the Union League Club.
