Cruise Ship Interiors Expo, a focused event dedicated exclusively to interior design, architecture, and outfitting for the cruise industry,  announced its first conference session to kick off the inaugural two-day event. Professionals at the forefront of the industry will share their expertise in ‘Cruise Industry Outlook: Leaders Debate’, on Wednesday, June 19, 2019.This conference session will focus on the newbuild order book, discussing how shipyards can respond to capacity issues, challenges around recruiting staff, economical concerns, and growth in the expedition market.

The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) presented an Innovation Award to Volvo Penta for its new Forward Drive (FWD) propulsion system in the Alternate Drive Technology category at the 2015 Miami International Boat Show today. Cruise Shipping Miami 2015 is gearing up to offer the most comprehensive and robust roster of panel discussions featuring the industry's most knowledgeable and experienced executives. The panels will be grouped under several broad themes based on industry trends during the four-day conference. The 31st edition of Cruise Shipping Miami is scheduled for March 16-19 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Organized by UBM Connect, thematic topics include The Geography of Cruise Tourism, Safety and Ship Operations, Market Segments and Cruise Product Development. Perko announced the opening of a new Diurnal Emission System Design Training Facility. It's part of Perko's 450,000 sq ft manufacturing plant, located just 30 minutes from the Miami Beach Convention Center. The company will provide transportation to and from the show for customers that would like to visit the facility. The +1,000 sq ft display room is equipped with audio visual aids to set up seminars with up to 25 attendees. According to reports, shipbuilders are capable of building cruise ships even larger than Royal Caribbean International's planned 6,000-passenger Genesis vessel. But whether passengers and ports are ready for future behemoths is another question, cruise-industry officials said Wednesday. There are no basic technical constraints to further size increases, Maurizio Cergol, cruise vessel chief designer for Italy's Fincantieri shipbuilding yard, said during a panel discussion on megaships at the Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention, the cruise industry's annual trade show at the Miami Beach Convention Center. According to Miami Today, Miami is poised to become the next destination for those who sail - and those who follow – super yachts, the size of small cruise ships and staffed by up to 50-person crews. In 2002, the last year tracked, super yacht owners contributed about $576 million to the economies of Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Broward counties, including $34.6 million generated in business taxes. In March, the second annual International Super Yacht symposium will convene at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The two-day symposium March 15-16 is being held in conjunction with the 22nd annual Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention, which is expected to draw nearly 10,000 attendees and more than 900 exhibiting companies from more than 100 countries March 13-16.

What is touted as the world's largest boat show - the Miami International Boat Show - will cruise into Miami for a six-day run Feb. 13-18, 2003, at the Miami Beach Convention Center and the Sealine Marina and Yachting Center. The 62nd edition of the Miami International Boat Show will feature the latest powerboats, engines and accessories from more than 2,300 exhibitors on more than 2.5 million sq. ft. of exhibition space. Show visitors will find new exhibition hours at the Miami Beach Convention Center, which will be open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Feb. 13; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on Feb. 14-17; and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Feb. 18.
