DP World Inaugurates Jebel Ali Inspection Facility

DP World informs it has inaugurated the largest and latest container inspection facility at its flagship Jebel Ali Port in Dubai. The new facility is one of the largest inspection facilities in the region, spanning over 7,000 square metres and providing 59 customs, health and environment inspection bays. Dubai Maritime City Authority Spearheads Effort to Establish UAE Bunker Standard

DMCA focuses on key issues covering safety, environmental sustainability and dispute resolution in bunkering industry. Dubai Maritime City Authority Supports Environmental Efforts

The United Arabs Emirates Shipping Association, a representative body for UAE-based commercial shipping, is supporting the efforts of the UN, IMO, and UAE Ministry of Environment and Water and DMCA in advocating for a global and open verifiable emissions trading program. One of the challenges that face the marine industry is reconciling their global reach with local expectations. As of the last IMO Marine Environmental Protection Committee (MEPC) meeting there is no globally accepted or approved method or protocol to assign and include shipping in national or transnational carbon emissions reduction process.
