Star Software Implemented Aboard Universal Marine Bulkers

Container and bulk shipping company Universal Marine and MirTac, a provider of fleet management solutions, have implemented Star Fleet Management software onboard the new bulk carriers mv Pride and mv Star II. Recently, a joint venture between Universal Shipping & Trading (part of the Universal Marine group) and NedNor, brought the relatively small bulkers mv Pride and mv StarII into service in bareboat charter to carry dry and break bulk along the coasts of the Atlantic. Conquest to Use MirTac and StarIPS Software

Maritime consultancy firm MirTac announced that Conquest Offshore has purchased the Star software and related database and implementation services. Conquest Offshore will be implementing the maintenance, purchase and safety management software both in the office as well as onboard its fleet. The Star software will support Conquest Offshore with the management of maintenance planning, inspections, purchasing and spare parts, document control, safety and environmental procedures and onboard barge administration.

MirTac Wins BAM Software Contract

BAM International has awarded MirTac the contract to (re)organize the documentation and activities related to maintenance, critical equipment, spare parts, quality and safety management into the Star IPS fleet management system. The contract comprises 12 units: the jack-up barge IB-909, 9 work boats, a newbuild crane barge and a newbuild self elevating platform. Jack-Up Barge awarded MirTac a new contract for consultancy and Star IPS implementation at its new build self elevating platform, the JB-118. The contract includes business consulting and the set-up of all required documentation, instructions, planned maintenance and administration onboard. Jack Up BargeThe design of the state-of-the-art JB-118, Self Elevating Platform, is based on the GustoMSC SEA-3250 with main parameters of: hull length 75.9m, breadth 40m, hull depth 6m, design draft 4.2m, 4 legs of 81.55m.

Fugro Brazil, Scaldis and Holland Offshore Join MirTac and Star

Recently, MirTac added three offshore contractors to its Star user group: the Fugro Marine Services BV business unit in Brazil, Scaldis Antwerp and Holland Offshore. The Star fleet management software is used worldwide on rigs, subsea solutions, ships and maritime offices linking locations seamlessly. Fugro Marine Services BV, already a MirTac customer for years, chose to also implement Star in her new office in Brazil and on the new-build Survey Vessel Fugro Brasilis. Fugro Marine Services primarily uses Star for maintenance and safety management, documentation, purchasing and spare parts management. Implementation for the Brazilian office and Fugro Brasilis has already started according to Maarten van Slobbe, Manager CMS at Fugro Marine Services B.V.

Scaldis Chooses MirTac and Star

Antwerp-based Scaldis Salvage and Marine Contractors ordered the Star fleet management system and related implementation services with Dutch company MirTac. Scaldis, well-known for amongst others the heavy-lifting/floating crane vessel Rambiz, chose MirTac after a thorough selection process with multiple suppliers. Successful audits and efficiency stimulate Jack-Up Barge to award new contracts to MirTac. Jack-Up Barge awarded MirTac new contracts for consultancy and Star IPS implementation for 4 locations: 1 monohull and 3 modular self elevating platforms. The assignment includes business consulting to optimize the efficient organisation of office-barge processes, the translation of daily practice into the Star IPS software and the set-up of all required documentation, procedures, planned maintenance and administration onboard.

Kornet Signs Additional Contract with MirTac

Rederij Kornet has signed a contract for four new vessels with MirTac and Star Information Systems. Kornet has already successfully implemented Star IPS on nine vessels and its office, including maintenance, spares, purchasing, document management and safety management. Proof of increased efficiency, transparency between office and vessels, considerable cost reduction were decisive factors to continue the partnership with MirTac for their new vessels.
