GCSG Launches Tank Barge for FMT

Gulf Coast Shipyard Group (GCSG) announced the launch of FMT 6000, the first of Florida Marine Transportation’s (FMT) new 6000 series 6.4 PSI–30,000 barrel environmentally friendly tank barges. The new series continues Florida Marine Transportation’s tradition of having the latest design and most environmentally-friendly equipment operating on America’s waterways. Utilizing proprietary engineering developed for FMT by the engineering group of Guarino & Cox, this series of new barges minimizes vapors escaping into the atmosphere while increasing safety factors when the barge is in operation.

With a family of three yards located along the Gulf of Mexico in Alabama, Mississippi and Texas, Signal International offers new construction, rig and ship repair, offshore and technical services. Marine construction and repair needs are complimented by three dry docks; a 30,000-ton lift rig dock, a 22,000-ton Panamax dry dock and a 4,500-ton lift dry dock. In Mobile, Ala., Signal Ship Repair (SSR) offers 4,400 ft. of water front along the Mobile River with a maintained channel depth of 44 ft. This facility specializes in ship repair and conversion.

TY Offshore, LLC launched the FMT 3256, the eighth of eighteen 297’6” x 54’ x 12’, 30,000 barrel tank barges for FMT Industries, LLC, one of the several companies within the Florida Marine Group. FMT Industries recently exercised its option for four additional barges from its original order of ten. The barges are being built at TY Offshore’s Gulfport, Mississippi facility. FMT Industries Orders Four Additional Tank Barges from TY Offshore

TY Offshore, LLC announced that FMT Industries ordered four additional 297’6” x 54’ x 12’, 30,000 barrel tank barges. With this new order and options for additional barges, TY Offshore will build up to 34 barges for FMT Industries. TY Offshore has already delivered six tank barges of the same class. TY Offshore Launches First of Ten Tank Barges

Trinity Offshore, LLC and FMT Industries, LLC are pleased to announce the christening and launch of FMT 3242, the first of ten 297’6” x 54’ x 12’, 30,000 barrel tank barges. The festivities were held at TY Offshore’s Gulfport, Mississippi facility yesterday, July 24, 2012, and mark the first launch of what will become an entire fleet of barges. The remaining launches will follow on at thirty day intervals. FMT Industries, LLC, is one of the several companies within the Florida Marine Group (Florida Marine). The barges are being built at TY Offshore’s Gulfport, Mississippi facility.

FMT to Build 4 Barges at Trinity

Rowan Announces Construction of New Rigs

Rowan Companies, Inc. announced plans for the construction of two jack-up rigs to add to its offshore fleet. The rigs will be a new design called the LeTourneau 240C. This design has enhanced environmental and drilling capabilities to meet the ever increasing operational requirements of worldwide exploration and production. Each rig will cost approximately $165 million and will be constructed at Rowan's Vicksburg, Mississippi facility. Expected delivery of the first rig is early summer 2008, and the second in early 2009. Rowan currently anticipates funding construction with available cash, but will consider attractive financing alternatives.
