LNG Majors Okay MHPS Gas Turbine

The engineering and manufacturing giant Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group (MHI Group) said it has completed successive technical qualification, conducted by oil majors and engineering companies on Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems’ 120MW H-100 Gas Turbine.To date, major LNG players, including ExxonMobil, Shell, Total, along with key engineering contractors such as Bechtel, have all completed extensive qualification studies on Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems' 120MW H-100 Gas Turbine for use as the mechanical driver in conjunction with well-proven compressors of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor Corporation."Acceptance of our LNG Solution by customers around the globe is a real boost for the MHI team"…

MHIA Relocates to Houston

Today Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA), a Group company overseeing the business of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) in North America, commenced full-scale operations at its newly relocated Head Office in Houston, Texas, following a move from its previous base in New York. MHIA held a reception at Rice University today to mark the occasion in the presence of guests including The Honorable Greg Abbott, Governor of Texas. Present at the reception, MHI President & CEO Shunichi Miyanaga offered the following remarks: "I am delighted that we have been able to set up a new base in Houston to better serve our customers and oversee our Group operations in North America.

MHI Subsidiary in Brazil for FPSO Compressors

In December Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor Corporation (MCO), a Group company of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) based in Hiroshima, will establish a new company in Brazil in a joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation (MC), to be known as MHI Compressor do Brasil Ltda. (MCO-B). Creation of the new entity, which will launch commercial operations in February 2016, is targeted at developing the Latin American market for compressors, with a focus on expanding sales of compressors for use in Floating Production, Storage and Offloading systems (FPSO), a market expected to see robust demand as Brazil develops deepwater oil fields. Initially MCO-B will perform sales and after-sale servicing functions, with local manufacturing capability targeted for the future.

Japanese Firm to Set Up Houston Compressor Plant

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor Corporation (MCO), a group company of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI), is to establish MHI Compressor Manufacturing, LLC in Pearland, Texas, to produce and service oil industry compressor equipment. The company will produce and service compressors in the U.S. market to accommodate demand generated by rapid growth in shale gas and oil development. Supported by this growth, many new petrochemical plant construction projects are planned, and heavy demand for renewal of existing plants is expected.

MCO Receives Order for Six Compressor Packages

Tokyo - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor Corporation (MCO), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI), has received an order for six compressor packages, to be installed on a floating production, storage and offloading system (FPSO), which Tupi BV plans to operate in the area of BM-S-11 at Brazil's coast. The compressor packages are the core unit of equipment to export natural gas extracted from oil fields. MCO received the order from MODEC Offshore Production System (Singapore) Pte Ltd., a subsidiary of MODEC Inc. MCO will be responsible for the design, procurement, manufacture and yard test of the compressor packages.
