India's Adani Ports Q2 Profit Jumps as Cargo Volumes Surge

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, India's largest private operator of ports, reported a 69% surge in quarterly profit on Tuesday, driven by strong cargo volumes. The company's consolidated profit for the quarter-ended Sept. 30 rose to 16.77 billion Indian rupees ($203 million). It had reported a profit of 9.95 bln rupees a year ago. Revenue from operations surged 33% to 52.11 billion rupees from a year ago. Adani Ports is part of the cooking oil-to-coal mining conglomerate Adani Group, which is run by Asia's richest person Gautam Adani.

All American Marine (AAM) has completed construction, launched, and delivered the Skana, a 150-passenger hydrofoil-assisted catamaran for Major Marine Tours. Nakilat Takes Over Management of FSRU Exquisite

Qatar-based energy shipping company Nakilat said Monday it had assumed the technical ship management and operations of the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) Exquisite from Excelerate.The FSRU is jointly owned by Nakilat and Excelerate through a joint venture established in 2018. This is the first FSRU to be managed in-house by Nakilat, bringing the company's managed fleet to 27 vessels, comprising of 22 LNG, 4 LPG carriers, and 1 FSRU.The FSRU Exquisite has a cargo-carrying capacity of 150,900 cubic meters and a peak regasification rate of 690 million cubic feet per day.

SeaMar Group Nets Long-Term Charter with MMT in U.S. Offshore Wind Space

Swedish marine survey company MMT has awarded a long-term contract for SeaMar Group's Deep Helder offshore support vessel.To contract comes following the recent six-month deal previously awarded for the vessel for work on the east coast of the U.S.The contract extension has a duration of two years firm, plus 1-year option. Adani Buys 75% Stake in Krishnapatnam Port

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), India’s largest private sector port operator, has agreed to buy a 75% stake in Krishnapatnam Port Co. Ltd (KPCL) at an enterprise value of INR 13,572 crore (US $1.9 billion). KPCL is located in the southern part of Andhra Pradesh, the state with the second largest coastline of in India, and is a multi-cargo facility which handled 54 MMT in FY19.This acquisition will accelerate APSEZ’s stride towards 400 MMT by 2025.Acquisition value of KPCL is approximately Rs.13,500 cr. The purchase consideration will be funded through internal accruals and existing cash balance.The credit metrics of APSEZ consolidated are not expected to change with this transaction. Adani Ports Q4 profit up 41%

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), India’s largest private multi-port operator, reported a 41.45 percent surge in its consolidated net profit to INR 1,314.19 crore (USD 188.4million) for the quarter ended on March 31, 2019.However, its revenue fell 3.15 percent to INR 31 billion, said a stock exchange annoucement. Its coal volumes rose 30 percent year-on-year during the quarter, while the cargo volume increased 19 percent.The company also reported a record cargo throughput of 54 million metric tonnes in the three months ended March, according to the filing. Salaya Terminal Cargo Growth up 160%

India's Essar Bulk Terminal Salaya Ltd (EBTSL) posted 160 percent growth in its cargo throughput for the Q1FY2020 which ended on June 30, 2019.As against 0.5 million tonnes (MT) in Q1FY19, EBTSL clocked a cargo throughput of 1.3 MT in Q1FY20, said a press release from the deepest draft terminal in Gujarat’s Saurashtra region.The performance marks not only a 160% growth in cargo handling over the corresponding quarter in the previous fiscal, but is also the best throughput achieved since the terminal’s commissioning in 2018.With the terminal integrated 1,200 MW power plant (Essar Power Gujarat) resuming operations, EBTSL is hopeful of a significant boost to its topline and cargo throughput in the subsequent quarters this year.

Manila Ports Utilization Remains Healthy

Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) informed that the cargo volume in the country has registered a modest hike in the first seven months of the year despite the sluggish performances from almost all aspects of local and foreign trade.Latest data from the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) showed that Philippine cargo traffic totaled 147.271 million metric tons (MMT) in the January to July 2018 period or a 2% hike compared to the 144.412 MMT handled in the same period last year.The data also showed that foreign cargo throughput handled is at 87.639 MMT or some 1.64% higher than the figure posted a year earlier wherein import volume handled is at 53.654 MMT and export traffic at 33.985 MMT.

Reach Charters Topaz Tiamat

Norwegian based Reach Subsea said it has entered an agreement with Dubai headquartered Topaz Energy and Marine to charter newbuild light subsea construction vessel Topaz Tiamat for 2.5 years, plus three one-year options.The Norwegian-built vessel will be deployed under a cooperation agreement between Reach and Sweden's MMT.
