Nakilat Posts Record Net Profit of $270M

Doha-listed LNG and LPG carrier owner Qatar Gas Transport Company Ltd (Nakilat) reported a consolidated net profit of QR1,003m (USD $270 million)  in 2019, an increase of 12.4 percent, as compared to QR892m posted for the same period in 2018.The 2019 net profit is Nakilat’s highest profit recorded since its inception, said the Qatari shipping and maritime company.Nakilat's robust financial performance is primarily attributed to operational excellence in the management of its Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) vessels, as well as realizing additional revenues from the two additional LNG carriers, one Floating…

Nakilat takes over first LNG carrier management from Shell

Nakilat has announced the management takeover of Q-Max LNG carrier Mozah from Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited (STASCO). This is the first vessel to be transitioned as part of the phased management transition. Mozah will also be the first Q-Max LNG carrier to be managed in-house by NSQL, which is currently managing 4 Q-Flex LNG and 4 large LPG carriers. Nakilat to Build 11 Tugs for New Doha Port

Qatar’s New Port Project (NPP) has signed an agreement with Nakilat Damen Shipyards Qatar (NDSQ) to construct 11 workboats for use at the port. HE Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, and HE Mr. Jassim Bin Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti, Minister of Transport, witnessed the signing ceremony between NDSQ and NPP, on Wednesday, 17th December 2014. The contracts were signed by Eng. Abdullah Fadhalah Al Sulaiti, Chairman of NDSQ and Managing Director of Nakilat, and Capt. Abdulla Al-Khanji CEO Qatar Ports Management Company & NPP General Supervisor. NDSQ will build four 29m-long Azimuth Stern Drive (ASD) tug boats, three 16m-long mooring boats and four15m-long glass reinforced plastic (GRP) pilot boats.

GDI Awards N-KOM US$110-M Contracts

Gulf Drilling International (GDI) Limited, a subsidiary of Gulf International Services (GIS), the largest oilfield service company in Qatar, has awarded two contracts worth US110 million to Nakilat-Keppel Offshore & Marine (N-KOM), a joint venture shipyard between Nakilat and Singapore’s Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M). The first contract is for the construction of a self-propelled and self-elevating liftboat, which is customised for field transit operations in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in water depths of up to 65 meters. When completed at the end of 2015, the liftboat will provide accommodation and platform support services for a customer with operations in Qatar.

Qatar Petroleum plans to invest over 40 billion QAR

Qatar Petroleum (QP) announced plans to invest over 40 billion Qatari Riyals (QAR) in the re-development of the existing Bul Hanine offshore oil field located about 120 kilometers to the east of the Qatari coastline. The project, which is currently at the pre-FEED stage, is one of the largest to be managed and executed by QP. It is designed to prolong the field’s life by countering its production decline and doubling its current oil production rate. Commenting on the redevelopment plans, H.E. NDSQ Lays Keels for Two Stan Tugs

Qatari shipbuilder Nakilat Damen Shipyards Qatar (NDSQ) has laid the keels for two 16m-long Stan Tugs, part of a seven-vessel order for marine services provider Nakilat Svitzer Wijsmuller (NSW). A small ceremony to mark this important step in the shipbuilding process was held at NDSQ’s facilities at Erhama Bin Jaber Al Jalahma Shipyard in Qatar’s Port of RasLaffan. The two twin-screw Stan Tugs have a bollard pull of 15 tons and will be used for mooring vessels visiting the Port of RasLaffan.

Qatargas Signs 5-year UK LNG Supply Contract

Qatar Liquefied Gas Company Limited (Qatargas) and Petronas LNG (UK) Limited  have signed a 5-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) for shipment of an annual LNG volume of 1.14 million tones, to the UK, effective January 2014. Pearl GTL Plant Open for Business

Qatar Petroleum and Shell announced that the Pearl gas-to-liquids (GTL) plant, located in Ras Laffan Industrial City in the State of Qatar, has sold its first commercial shipment of GTL Gasoil. The sale marks the start of production of GTL products when the State of Qatar and Shell, the operator of the Pearl GTL plant, begin to receive revenue from the project. Over the coming months, production will ramp up from the first production unit (‘train’) of the Pearl GTL project. The second train is expected to start up before the end of 2011. Major milestone: First Gas Flows From Offshore Into The Pearl GTL Plant In Qatar

Qatar Petroleum and Shell today announced the first flow of dedicated offshore gas into the Pearl GTL plant located in Ras Laffan Industrial City in the State of Qatar. Shell, which is the operator of the Pearl GTL plant developed under a Production and Sharing Agreement with QP, has opened natural gas wells offshore allowing the first sour gas to flow through a subsea pipeline into the giant GTL plant onshore. Sections of the Pearl GTL plant will be started up progressively over the coming months.
