Liberia`s transitional government has offered a $10,000-reward to anyone providing information that would lead to the arrest of two former officials of the country`s Maritime Bureau, who were recently dismissed for allegedly stealing $3.5 million of State funds. In a statement issued Tuesday in Monrovia, the information ministry in Monrovia said J.D. Slanger headed the Liberian Maritime Bureau and Mohammed Dukuly served as Liberia`s Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) before their dismissal in connection with gross corruption, according to a report in the Angola Press. Liberia`s interim leader Gyude Bryant dismissed and replaced them few weeks ago, while ordering them produce within 72 hours 700,000 Euros that allegedly pocketed or face prosecution.
