MOL Hosts Family Day for Seafarers

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) group seafarer manning company Magsaysay MOL Marine (MMM) held a Family Day for Filipino seafarers at an amusement complex in Manila, drawing about 3,250 seafarers and their families.MOL also held a long-service awards presentation ceremony for Filipino seafarers who work for MMM in Manila. MOL Presents Long-Service Awards

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has announced that its group seafarer manning company Magsaysay MOL Marine, Inc (MMM) held a long-service awards presentation ceremony for Filipino seafarers who work for MMM in Manila on November 3, and hosted a Family Day event the following day. MOL President & CEO Junichiro Ikeda, MOL Managing Executive Officer Masanori Kato, and executives of MOL group's ship management companies attended both events. Awards and recognition went to seafarers with 15 years of service aboard MOL-operated vessels, and a total of about 60 award recipients and their families attended. JCG Praises MOL Vessels

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) announced that 15 MOL-operated / managed vessels won commendations from the commanders of the 3rd and 5th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters of Japan Coast Guard (JCG). To mark Japan Hydrography Day (September 12), the commanders of the Regional Coast Guard Headquarters presented testimonials to individuals and organizations that have contributed to marine information services (assisting with research related to the sea and marine information). This year, MOL's vessels won praise for their significant contributions to the coast guard's marine information services by providing observed data on seawater temperature and oceanic currents over many years, and 15 of them were selected for the commendation.

MOL Donates Photos to Maritime Schools

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) donated vessel photographs to nine maritime educational institutes in Japan in commemoration of the 130th anniversary of its foundation. On September 25, MOL Managing Executive Officer Takaaki Inoue presented a vessel photo to Yuji Hayashi, Head of the Faculty of Maritime Sciences at Kobe University. MOL Philippine Maritime Students Graduate

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) inform of the graduation of 126 students in the third class of the “Third Year Program,” which targets new seafarers from among third-year students at seven partner maritime schools in the Philippines. MOL explains that it provides education and training at the Magsaysay Institute of Shipping(MIS), its training center in the Philippines. The program received accreditation as the equivalent to university-level education under the Academe-Industry Linkage Program promoted by the Philippine government.
