Vyborg Shipyard held a ceremony for delivery to the customer of the multi-purpose semi-submersible platform project CS50. The platform has been constructed in full conformity with the production schedule and the terms and provisions of the contract. The multi-purpose bare-deck platform CS50 represents the 5-th generation of semi-submersible platforms designed by Moss Maritime AS (Norway). The platform is of a catamaran type with two pontoons and six stabilizing columns supporting the upper structure. Main dimensions: 118,6 x 70,4 x 40,6m, hull weight is about 15 000 tons. Golar LNG Limited is pleased to announce that the company has signed a contract with Keppel Shipyard Limited of Singapore for the first ever conversion of an existing LNG carrier into a LNG Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU). Keppel Shipyard Limited is the leading ship repair yard for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) carriers outside Japan. Moss Maritime of Norway (a Saipem company) has prepared the conceptual specification for the FSRU and will carry out the design and engineering. When the conversion is completed in the second quarter of 2007, it will be the first of its type in the world. The conversion will be made based on relevant DNV class rules and international standards.
