Canadian Shipyards Partner to Bid for Polar Icebreaker Build

Two Canadian shipyards have joined forces in a bid for the contract to deliver the next polar icebreaker under Canada's National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS).Seaspan Shipyards (Vancouver Shipyards Co. Ltd.) and Heddle Shipyards (Heddle Marine Service Inc.) announced Tuesday they will big as partners to build the Canadian Coast Guard’s future polar icebreaker to replace the decades old CCGS Louis S. Reflex Marine Launches Service Center

Reflex Marine, producer of the industry-leading Frog and Toro personnel carriers and expert in marine personnel transfer, continues to expand its global network of Accredited Service Centres (ASCs) with the launch of its latest Center in Canada. Nord Marine Services Ltd, a supplier of marine safety equipment, has been appointed to operate the new Accredited Service Center in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland. As a result Canadian operators will be able to access local maintenance, training and demonstration services, for the Frog and Toro transfer units.

Rolls-Royce Opens New Facility in Newfoundland

Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, has enhanced its global customer support capability in Canada with a new Marine service center located in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, one of the busiest ports in the Canadian Maritimes. Encompassing 25,000 square feet, the new Rolls-Royce Commercial Marine service center in Mount Pearl will provide state-of-the art repair and overhaul expertise for customers throughout the East Atlantic Provinces and the Canadian Great Lakes region.
