Marcon International, Inc. of Coupeville, Washington started out the New Year right with the sale of the ocean-going, combo deck / tank barge “PCC Provider” on 3rd January to Alaskan buyers. The 5,451 mtdw, 250’ x 74’ x 19’ depth barge was specifically designed by Dixon Naval Architects and built in 1999 by CSC Jinling Shipyard in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China for transport of up to 6,200 short tons of limestone rock on deck and/or approx. 1,000,000 U.S. gallons of liquid slurry in 10 double-hull, cargo tanks with corrugated bulkheads, and fitted with agitator impellers, centerline piping and access tunnel. The double raked barge was heavily built with a 7/8” plate deck and 5/8” side & chine, and 3/8” bottom and fitted with twin towing skegs and a small push notch aft.

Delivered in October 2012, Penguin’s Flex-38S series crew boat, the MV Abba is fast and versatile. With capacity for up to 90 workers in reclining seats the boat also has an 80-square-meter open deck with a 55-ton capacity. The deck is strengthened for up to two MT per square meter. At 38 x7.6 m(124.7 x 25-feet) with a molded depth of 3.65 m (aprox. 12 feet) this is a big boat built to Penguin Shipyard International Pte Ltd’s proprietary design. The boat is designed to carry robust cargos at optimum speeds.

Marcon International, Inc. of Coupeville, Wash. is pleased to announce the delivery of two new DP-1, 5,150 BHP, 1,350 mt dw anchor handling tug supply vessels to Nigerian buyers. Opu Tamuno 1 and Ibi Teme were constructed at Zhanjiang Haibin Shipyard in China. Initially the units were commissioned on speculation by the shipyard, and the buyers secured the vessels with over six months of work remaining on each. The sister vessels measure 58.7m x 14.6m x 5.5m depth and have a design draft 4.75m. Clear deck area measures 370m2 with a loading of 7mt/m2.
