EGA Signs Pact with Maersk

Emirates Global Aluminium has signed a volume commitment extension agreement for 2019 with the global shipping company A.P. Moller - Maersk for transport EGA's aluminium to customers around the world.EGA exports its metal to customers in more than 60 countries worldwide and makes more than 11,000 shipments each year using over 100,000 containers. EGA’s aluminium is the biggest made-in-the-UAE export after oil and gas, said a press release from thealuminium conglomerate  owned equally by Mubadala Development Company of Abu Dhabi and Investment Corporation of Dubai.EGA works with 20 different shipping lines to ship its products, transporting metal to over 70 global ports.

Sener New Office in Abu Dhabi

Sener Ingeniería y Sistemas, S.A. has opened a new office in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates. This new office is located in the Gulf Business Centre district of downtown Abu Dhabi and will be Sener’s local headquarters to develop projects in the power and process sector, the civil engineering and architecture sector, as well as the aerospace sector. Sener began to take an interest in the business opportunities available in the emirate of Abu Dhabi in 2007, when the company made its first contacts there. This led to the creation of Torresol Energy in March 2008.

Abu Dhabi, Bahrain Navy Contract

A landing craft similar to those to be built for the Bahrain Navy.

Abu Dhabi Ship Building has been awarded a contract to build four landing craft for the Bahrain Naval Forces. The multi-million dollar contract was won in the face of competition from international shipyards. This is the second Bahraini order for Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB), the only dedicated naval shipbuilding and repair facility in the Arabian Gulf. The new contract, awarded by the Kingdom of Bahrain Defense Force, is for the construction of two 42-metre steel landing craft and two 16-metre landing craft made of composite materials.

E-ships Orders two LPG Tankers

Emirates Ship Investment Company (E-ships) has ordered construction of two semi-refrigerated LPG Tankers from STX for $76 million, according to a report on www.khaleejtimes.com. The price for each vessel is about $38 million and the vessels will be delivered in Korea in May and July 2010. Eships is an Abu Dhabi based shipping company controlling 11 modern tankers and bulk carriers. E-ships is owned by Oman and Emirates Investment Holding Company, Mubadala Development Company and Abu Dhabi Investment Company (ADIC). Eships currently has four vessels on Time Charter to Total (CSSA). (Source: www.khaleejtimes.com)
