Helix Awards Huisman Contract

Huisman won a new contract from Helix Energy Solutions Group, Inc. for the delivery of a Well Intervention System onboard Helix’s new build Semi submersible “Q7000”. The system, which is based on Huisman’s proven Multi Purpose Tower (MPT) design, will be built by the Huisman production facility in China. The fully integrated 800mt Well Intervention System will be capable of handling the Intervention stack, the high pressure riser and other components. Norway's DOF Group Announce Offshore Charters

DOF Subsea provider of subsea services to the offshore oil & gas industry worldwide announce new vessel contracts. DOF Subsea AS has entered into a contract with Helix Well Ops for the vessel Skandi Constructor. The contract is for three year's firm with three, one year options. The contract will commence in the second quarter of 2013. Skandi Constructor is a well intervention vessel of Ulstein SX 121 design built in 2009. The vessel has a LOA of 120.2 m and a breadth of 25.0 m and is equipped with a 150 T crane and a multi-purpose tower with 140 t lift capacity.

Four Nominees HME Maritime Innovation Award 2012

The nominees of the Dutch HME Maritime Innovation Award 2012 are Huisman Equipment BV, VOSTA LMG BV, Kranendonk Production Systems BV, and Imtech Marine & Offshore BV. These nominees are selected out of sixteen innovative submissions. The winner will be announced at the Maritime Awards Gala on Thursday 8 November 2012 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. On 14 September 2012 the nominated companies will clarify their new products to a jury. The jury includes leading experts on shipping, shipbuilding, maritime services, offshore, and maritime research.

Groundbreaking $110m, DP3 “CSS” Vessel Ordered

Hallin Marine has commissioned a new, $110m, groundbreaking semi-submersible, subsea operations vessel to be named the CSS Derwent. “The CSS (compact semi submersible) delivers big ship capability in a low cost package,” said John Giddens, Hallin’s CEO. “It will support the oil operators’ desire to improve production and reduce costs.” The 84 m CSS is the culmination of a five-year project designed to deliver ‘large boat capability’ at a price of a much smaller vessel with a primary focus on light well intervention.
