Radix Wins $11.5M Contract from Petrobras

Petrobras awarded Radix a contract to develop projects for floating production, storage, and offloading vessels (FPSOs). The agreement will last 31 months, with services estimated at $11.5 million. The contract includes developing multidisciplinary engineering projects using digital automation tools for the state-owned company's new assets. "We are very excited about this major new contract with Petrobras, underlining our industrial expertise in this segment. Petrobras is a global reference client in the oil and gas market, where Radix continues to have a strong presence," said Augusto Castro, Radix's General Manager for Capital Projects.

Subsea technology company Seatools has delivered deep-sea mineral collection equipment for Allseas' Hidden Gem seabed mining ship.Seatools was responsible for the engineering, manufacturing, and qualification of the electronics, instrumentation, and hydraulics for Allseas’ pilot polymetallic nodule collection vehicle. BMT Names Behrendt Global Strategy and Innovation Director

Multidisciplinary engineering firm BMT said it has appointed Peter Behrendt as its global Director of Strategy and Innovation.Behrendt joined BMT in 2017 as Managing Director for the Australian Defense and Security business, a role that he has now handed over to Chelly Litster, who has been with BMT since the acquisition of Effectiva in 2018.Behrendt's background includes operational, commercial, and business development positions within leading international companies, including spending nine-years with SAAB.

SENER Inaugurates Manchester Office

The engineering and technology group SENER has celebrated the inauguration of its facilities in Manchester, the group’s base for engineering and construction in the United Kingdom, which have been fully operational since 2014. The inauguration event was held May 8 and was attended by local authorities, including City Mayor Ian Stewart and representatives from key clients such as BAE Systems and Babcock. The guests were received on behalf of SENER by its Marine General Manager, Rafael de Góngora, and the Manager of its Marine office in Manchester, Fernando Sánchez.

SENER Operating Revenue up 7.6% in 2013

The SENER Engineering and Technology Group closed the 2013 financial year with an operating revenue of €1.218 billion, representing a growth of 7.6% on the previous year. The number of people working at SENER reached 5,570, an increase of 3.8%, and R&D investment was €71.7 million, representing 5.8% of the group's revenue. These figures position SENER as Spain's leading multidisciplinary engineering group in terms of R&D and the development of technologically-differentiated international projects.

Specialist Maritime Engineer Joins Arup’s Houston Office

Arup, the multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm, has been joined by Larry Wise as an associate and maritime engineer in the firm’s Houston office. In this role, explains Arup, he will be responsible for leading and executing energy and maritime assignments, supporting and servicing regional energy, oil and gas terminals, ports and marine terminals, urban waterfront restorations, and environmental restoration projects. A seasoned coastal and marine engineer with more than 18 years of experience in the marine and environmental industries, Larry has worked on several notable projects recently including the Mozambique LNG Export Facility project, the Texas City Channel Deepening project, and the Alaska LNG Export Terminal.

CD-adapco release STAR-CCM+ v8.02, a major new version of its integrated solution for multidisciplinary engineering problems. CD-adapco is the world's largest independent CFD focused CAE provider. "The STAR-CCM+ v8 releases are specifically aimed at increasing engineering productivity, making the software even easier to use and interact with, and significantly reducing the time required to get a high-quality solution," said Senior VP Product Management Jean-Claude Ercolanelli. Gold Dredging Vessel Delivered

The 50-foot vessel, designed by Anderson Associates, & built by Pacifica has been delivered for gold dredging near Nome, Alaska. Anderson Associates, a Bremerton-based multidisciplinary engineering services firm, recently completed design of a new dredge vessel for Pacifica, a Seattle-based vehicle assembler. The vessel was designed specifically to meet the unique requirements of sub-surface dredging operations in the remote coastal waters of the Bering Sea, and is powered by twin 300HP Yamaha outboards.

Art Anderson Awarded Port of Portland Contract

Art Anderson Associates, a Bremerton-based multidisciplinary engineering services firm, was recently awarded a contract for On-Call Naval Architect Design Services with the Navigation Division of the Port of Portland. The Navigation Division owns and operates a fleet of vessels and barges, including the Dredge Oregon, and has retained the firm to provide naval architecture and marine engineering services in support of fleet maintenance and operations. While the firm has maintained a presence in the Portland area for many years, providing facilities construction management services on behalf of the U.S. General Services Administration, it is only recently that it has focused on doing more naval architecture and marine work in the region.

BREMERTON, WA - Art Anderson Associates, a Bremerton-based multidisciplinary engineering services firm, has hired Sean McKee, PE, as a Senior Marine Electrical Engineer.  Mr. McKee will work in the firm’s Marine Division, and be responsible for leading and executing electrical engineering assignments for marine and vessel engineering projects.  He will also provide additional support to the firm’s Facilities Division to accommodate surges in electrical workload.
