Outlook for India’s Seaborne Dry Bulk Trade

The Hinode’s 2nd Conference on “Outlook for India’s Seaborne Dry Bulk Trade” held at the Hotel Vivanta by Taj President saw a significant gathering of shipowners, charterers, agents, ship managers, exporters, importers, bankers, legal experts and those in other allied fields. Though the bulk trade worldwide has been at an ebb the conference was seen as an opportunity to network and gather views that could help place participants in a stronger position once the turnaround takes place. According to T. V. Shanbhag, Ex Chief Commissioner of Chartering, Government of India the trade is likely to see a sea-change soon. 3rd Conference on Ship Recycling Bring out Revealing Facts

A realistic picture at the grass root level of the ship breaking industry in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan unfolded at the’ 3rd Ship Annual conference on Ship Recycling on the Indian Sub-continent’ held on 18th September 2014 at Taj-President Mumbai. Ltd, has been appointed by a consortium of banks as “Lenders Independent Engineers” for the ABG Shipyard Project. This project will require the Murray Fenton India team to monitor the construction of vessels, ship lift projects and expenditure at the ABG shipyards - Magdalla and Dahej - as well as oversee financial disbursements to the yard. Bibby Ship Management Group Ltd. announced the acquisition of Murray Fenton (India) Surveyors Limited. The acquisition was made via Bibby Ship Management India Pvt. Ltd., and will see India’s service offering expand into marine, cargo and offshore surveying including marine audit services.
