Italy's Saipem Wins Eni Angola Contract

Saipem has signed a contract with Eni Angola S.p.A. in relation to the West Hub Development project in Angola, which incorporates the work orders previously assigned and communicated in 2016 and 2017 and adds the scope of work for the development of the Vandumbu field in Block 15/06. The additional activities will be carried out by the Offshore E&C division and encompass the engineering, procurement, construction and installation required for the development of the Vandumbu subseea field at deepwater depths ranging from 1300 to 1500 metres. Overall the project includes the realisation of two production pipelines made of special material, and the laying of umbilicals and service lines of various diameters (Subsea, Umbilicals, Risers & Flowlines - SURF).

Lamprell Delivers 9th Jackup Drill Rig to NDC

Lamprell announced the completion of construction of Al Lulu, the final jackup drilling rig in a series of nine delivered to Abu Dhabi’s National Drilling Company (NDC). The contract for the NDC Al Lulu rig was awarded in April 2015, one of only three rig orders awarded that year. All nine rigs have been designed according to the Cameron LeTourneau Super 116E (Enhanced) Class design and were completed to the highest standards of quality using the latest in drilling system technology, the builder said.

Eighth Lamprell Rig for NDC

Lamprell announces the completion of construction on a further jackup drilling rig, the “Al Hudairiyat”, and its delivery to Abu Dhabi’s National Drilling Company (“NDC”), within budget and as scheduled. Completion and delivery of the jackup rig was marked at an inauguration ceremony held at Lamprell’s Hamriyah facility in the U.A.E. yesterday. The rig was completed to the highest standards of quality using the latest in drilling system technology from our suppliers and will depart the facility in Q1 en route to its drilling location in Abu Dhabi. The contract for the NDC “Al Hudairiyat” rig was signed in November 2014 and this is the eighth rig in a series of nine being built and delivered by Lamprell to NDC.

Lamprell announced the completion of construction on the jackup drilling rig, “Al Gharbia”, and its delivery to Abu Dhabi’s National Drilling Company (‘NDC’). Completion and delivery of the jackup rig, on time and on budget, was marked at an inauguration ceremony held at Lamprell’s Hamriyah facility in the UAE on 22 December. The rig will depart the facility in late December en route to its drilling location in Abu Dhabi. The contract for the NDC “Al Gharbia” rig was signed in November 2014 and this is the seventh rig in a series of nine rigs being built and delivered by Lamprell to NDC. Drydocks Completes Rig Diyina

Drydocks World, an international service provider to the shipping, offshore, oil, gas and energy sectors has completed the yard’s first Rig Integrity Assurance Program (RIAP) on rig Diyina for the National Drilling Company (NDC), and the first EPCC concept rig project the yard has undertaken. The completion of rig Diyina is a reflection of Drydocks World’s capabilities and dedication to addressing the refurbishment requirements of offshore drilling rigs, the yard said. Drydocks World has completed 17 projects for NDC, with rig Diyina being the first RIAP project. On rig Diyina 2,000 tons of steel, 17 kilometers of piping, 180 kilometers of cabling and approximately 90,000 square meters of painting work has been carried out.

UAE's National Drilling Co. Inks Deal for 14 Rigs

The UAE's National Drilling Company has signed contracts worth $543 million to acquire 14 new rigs, state news agency WAM said on Sunday. One offshore and one onshore rig will be manufactured in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of the deals, WAM said. The new contracts are a reflection of the firm's plans for growth and a result of growing demand from its customers, it said.   (Reporting by Maha El Dahan; editing by Jason Neely)

Lamprell Delivers Rig to National Drilling Co.

Lamprell announced the construction of the jackup drilling rig, the “Butinah”, and delivery to Abu Dhabi’s National Drilling Company (NDC) safely and within budget. This comes following an announcement last week where NDC exercised one of its existing options and awarded a further contract to Lamprell to build a ninth rig in the series. The “Butinah” rig, which achieved an exceptional safety record, departed Lamprell’s Hamriyah facility on 1 May, and is sailing to its drilling location in the Zakum Field off Abu Dhabi. The contract for the NDC “Butinah” rig was signed in April 2012 and this is the sixth in a series of nine rigs being built and delivered by Lamprell to NDC. All nine rigs have been or will be designed according to the Cameron LeTourneau Super 116E (Enhanced) Class design.

Dubai: New Drydocks Record

Drydocks World, the international service provider to the shipping, offshore, oil, gas and energy sectors, handled 37 projects simultaneously in the Dubai yard, exceeding the previous record of 35 vessels. “Since January 2015 Drydocks World has increased the rate of vessel completion, with 33 per cent more vessels leaving the yard in March,” the company press release said. Drydocks World’s 37 projects include dredgers, rigs, gas carriers, tankers and container ships, which are being repaired and refitted for clients such as Chevron Shipping, Technip, Saudi Aramco, Shelf Drilling, Saipem, the National Drilling Company, Excelerate Energy and Aban Offshore.

Drydocks World Completes NDC Rig Repair

Drydocks World informs it has completed a refurbishment project on the National Drilling Company’s (NDC) offshore drilling Rig Beynouna. Drydocks World’s rig services and offshore project management methodology turned around the major repair on Rig Beynouna ahead of schedule in 28 days. Drydocks World has previously completed numerous projects for NDC, progressively increasing its strategic alliance over the years. For Rig Beynouna Drydocks World carried out drydocking, hull treatment, crane repairs, HP piping, SW lines cleaning, accommodation repairs and treatment works.

Drydocks World, the international service provider to the shipping, offshore, oil, gas and energy sectors, have simultaneously berthed 11 rigs in the Dubai yard, breaking its record of nine rigs at the yard set in February this year. Jackup Rig Delivered to Abu Dhabi’s NDC

Lamprell has completed the construction of jackup drilling rig, the Shuwehat, and has delivered the rig to Abu Dhabi’s National Drilling Company (NDC) within budget and as scheduled. The delivery follows Lamprell’s announcement on November 12 stating that the group received a new $365 million contract award from NDC for the construction of two further jackup drilling rigs of a similar design and specification. Shuwehat is the fifth in a series of eight rigs ordered in April 2012 with the LeTourneau Super 116E (Enhanced) Class design which are being built and delivered by Lamprell to NDC.

New Recommendations to Avoid Jacking System Failure

A joint industry project on jacking system maintenance and inspection has resulted in a new DNV GL Recommended Practice. This provides guidance to ensure the correct and safe functioning of rack and pinion style jacking systems. The objective is to reduce the risk of gear failure, resulting in lower costs and higher availability throughout the asset’s life time. The consequences of jacking gear failure can be severe and, while the problem is acknowledged by the industry, the correct maintenance and inspection of the jacking systems have proven to be challenging due to the high turnover of people with specific knowledge on board, the evolving nature of the systems and the intermittent use of the systems.

Lamprell First Half Results Beat Expectations

Lamprell today announced its financial results for the first half of 2014, reporting results ahead of expectations due to strong operational performance and early results from savings initiatives, generating improved margins. Revenues rose by $125.7 million against H1 2013 as a result of the high H1 activity levels and phasing of construction activity during the period. According to Lamprell, successful rights issue and refinancing provides a strong financial platform and enables delivery of long-term growth strategy.

Drydocks World, an international service provider to the marine and maritime sectors including to the oil and gas and energy industry, announced the completion of major repair and refurbishment of National Drilling Company’s (NDC) jack up drilling rig Al Ittihad. The company said it has carried out maintenance work on several of NDC’s rigs, and the numbers have increased over the years: Drydocks World received four orders in 2013 to add to the eight projects completed previously.

Drydocks World Reiterates Offshore Sector Commitments

Drydocks World, announced the completion of maintenance work on Abu Dhabi-UAE based National Drilling Company’s (NDC) Jack-Up Cantilever type Self Elevating Drilling Platform, Delma, which was built in Brazil in 1983. Drydocks World has repaired over a 100 rigs since operations began and has implemented more projects for the offshore drilling sector in recent years as part of a deliberate strategy to serve this rapidly growing sector. The shipyard had worked on 6 rigs simultaneously this year. Delma is the first of two orders received from NDC this year.

Drydocks World Repairs Self-elevated Crane Vessel

Drydocks World, an international provider of maritime and offshore services to the shipping, oil, gas and energy sectors, completed major repair and refurbishment of National Drilling Company’s (NDC) self-elevated crane vessel Al Ghweifat at its Dubai-based shipyard. The 165 ft x 140 ft x 15 ft self-elevated crane vessel has undergone extensive maintenance related repair and refurbishment. Extensive maintenance performed on the three Truss type 260-feet long legs including the spud can, which would enable the vessel to attain peak performance at 157 feet of water.
