Monaco-based tanker owner Scorpio Tankers has reported a widened net loss for the fourth quarter of 2017, reaching USD 41.5 million, when compared to the same quarter from 2016 when its net loss was USD 29.7 million. The shipping company posted revenue of $148.4 million in the period. For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $158.2 million, or 73 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $512.7 million. Emanuele Lauro, chief executive officer and chairman of the board commented, “During the fourth quarter of 2017, we incurred some additional costs and reductions in revenue from the integration of the NPTI fleet. We believe that these steps were important in order to better capitalize on the improving product tanker market fundamentals.

Scorpio Tankers Inc. announced that it has closed the previously announced merger with Navig8 Product Tankers Inc. (NPTI). As consideration, Scorpio has issued 55 million shares of its common stock to the holders of NPTI’s common shares or 19.7% of the current 279,663,300 Scorpio common shares issued and outstanding. Through the Merger and related transactions, Scorpio has acquired an operating fleet of 27 eco-design product tankers, comprised of 15 LR2s and 12 LR1s with a weighted average of 1.2 years and an aggregate carrying capacity of approximately 2.6 million dwt. Scorpio Tankers said shareholders of Navig8 Product Tankers Inc. (NPTI) approved the previously announced merger of Scorpio and NPTI at shareholders meeting held Tuesday. At the meeting, approximately 94.25 percent of the NPTI shares outstanding were voted, all of which were in favor of the merger. The merger remains subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close on or about September 1, 2017. Three months ago, Scorpio Tankers announced that it had reached a deal to acquire 27 recently built LR tankers by merging with Navig8 Product Tankers. The deal makes Scorpio the largest product tanker firm on a U.S. securites exchange, and Scorpio said it expects the increased scale of its operations to reduce costs and increase vessel utilization.

Navig8 Product Tankers Inc. today announced that it has taken delivery of the Navig8 Gladiator, a 113,000 DWT LR2 tanker from Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Limited (“GSI”), formerly CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering (Group) Company Limited. The Navig8 Gladiator is the seventh of eight vessels contracted at GSI to be delivered to the Company and is the seventh vessel to be delivered under the sale and leaseback agreements entered into with CSSC (Hong Kong) Shipping Company Limited (“CSSC”) announced on June 25, 2015. Following delivery from GSI, the Navig8 Gladiator was delivered to CSSC under the terms of the Sale MOA and then delivered back to the Company under bareboat charter. The Navig8 Gladiator will be entered into and operated in Navig8 Group’s Alpha8 commercial pool.

Navig8 Product Tankers Inc. an international shipping company focused on the transportation of petroleum products, today announced that it has taken delivery of the Navig8 Precision a 74,000 DWT LR1 tanker from SPP Shipbuilding Co., Ltd (“SPP”). The Navig8 Precision is the third of four vessels contracted at SPP to be delivered to the Company and is the first vessel to be delivered under the secured loan facility entered into with ABN AMRO BANK N.V., Singapore Branch announced on July 19, 2016. The Navig8 Precision will be entered into and operated in Navig8 Group’s LR8 commercial pool. The Company has taken delivery of eleven LR1 and ten LR2 product tanker newbuildings to date and anticipates delivery of its full 27 eco‐design product tanker newbuilding fleet by the end of 2016.

Navig8 Product Tankers Inc. today announced that it has taken delivery of the Navig8 Providence, a 74,000 DWT LR1 tanker from SPP Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (“SPP”). The Navig8 Providence is the second of four vessels contracted at SPP to be delivered to the Company and is the second vessel to be delivered under the sale and leaseback agreements entered into with CMB Financial Leasing Co., Ltd (“CMBFL”) announced on March 17, 2016. Following delivery of the Navig8 Providence by SPP to CMBFL under the terms of the assigned shipbuilding contract, the Navig8 Providence was then delivered back to the Company under bareboat charter. The Navig8 Providence will be entered into and operated in Navig8 Group’s LR8 commercial pool.

Navig8 Product Tankers Inc. today took delivery of one 110,000 DWT LR2 product tanker, the Navig8 Supreme, from Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. (“Sungdong”). The Navig8 Supreme is the fourth vessel to be delivered under the sale and leaseback arrangements entered into with Ocean Yield ASA (“Ocean Yield”) announced on July 13, 2015. Following the delivery from Sungdong, the Navig8 Supreme was delivered to Ocean Yield under the terms of the Sale MOA and then delivered back to the Company under bareboat charter. The Navig8 Supreme is the last of seven vessels ordered at Sungdong to be delivered to the Company. The vessel will be entered into and operated in the Alpha8 commercial pool operated by the Navig8 Group.

Navig8 Product Tankers recently entered into an amended loan facility for USD 128.5 million with Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (CACIB) and BNP Paribas to provide additional financing for LR1 74,000 DWT product tankers being built at STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co.

Navig8 Product Tankers Inc today took delivery of one LR2 115k-dwt product tanker m.t. "NAVIG8 STABILITY" from Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co, Ltd. The Company has also today taken delivery of one LR1 74k-dwt product tanker m.t. "NAVIG8 EXCELSIOR" from STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. NAVIG8 STABILITY and NAVIG8 EXCELSIOR will enter and be operated in Navig8's ALPHA8 and LR8 pools respectively.

Norway’s Ocean Yield ASA has agreed to acquire four 115,000 dwt LR2 product tankers which are currently on order from Navig8 Product Tankers at Sungdong Shipbuilding in Korea. Ocean Yield has agreed to acquire the product tankers for a total consideration of USD 198.1 million, in combination with 13 years "hell and high water" bareboat charters to Navig8 Product Tankers Inc, says a company statement. The four vessels are being built at Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd, Korea, and are scheduled for delivery in January, March, May and July 2016. The vessels are being acquired for USD 49.5 million each, which is equal to the original yard cost and is about 20% below current market value.

Reuters - South Korea's STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co Ltd said on Monday it won a 413.8-billion won ($387.63 million) order to build eight tankers from from Navig8 Product Tankers Inc. The South Korean shipbuilder said in a statement the contract includes an option for four more tankers, which would take the total order amount to about 620 billion won.
