B&G Debuts Wireless Pilot Control

B&G, a leader in the manufacture of instruments and marine electronics for sailing, announced today the release of the compact Wireless Pilot Controller. Providing complete control to sailors, no matter where they are on the boat, the new Wireless Pilot Controller is comprised of a small and lightweight waterproof Bluetooth base station with micro-C connections, has pairings for up to four remotes, and is compatible with B&G Triton and H5000 Pilot systems. The Pilot Controller Wireless Remote is perfectly sized to fit into the user’s palm. The unit has a series of clearly marked keys and an LED status light to allow for fast and accurate autopilot access. A mode button allows sailors to toggle through the available pilot modes such as Auto or Wind.

Northrop Grumman Sponsors Jubilee Sailing Trust

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) is among the sponsors of  the Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST), a registered charity whose mission is to promote the integration of people of all physical abilities, including injured and recovering servicemen and women, through the challenge and adventure of tall ship sailing. As part of its sponsorship, Northrop Grumman's Sperry Marine business unit replaced the navigational electronics on the Lord Nelson, one of JST's two tall ships. This update included the main gyro compass system originally fitted in 1985. Since the JST was established in 1978, they have welcomed more than 40,000 people on board, of whom 15,000 have had a disability and 5,500 have been wheelchair users.

Delta Wave Announces Swiftships Newbuild Contract

Delta Wave Communications, LLC, has announced that it has been selected by Swiftships Shipbuilders, LLC to provide marine navigational electronics and a dynamic positioning (DP-2) system for two Swiftships 175’ fast supply vessel (FSV) new builds. The vessels, which will be operating in the Gulf of Mexico in support of the oil and gas industry, will allow for expanded capabilities in deep water operations.
