Sixth Sword of Honour for Drydocks World

For the sixth year in a row, Drydocks World – Dubai (DDW-D), a ship repair, conversion and new building yard in the region and the flagship company of the Drydocks World group, has been the recipient of the British Safety Council’s (BSC) globally respected Sword of Honour. The award is in recognition of the consistent success the Dubai yard has achieved in applying internationally accepted safety standards. The Sword of Honour scheme, now in its 30th year, recognizes organizations that have implemented safety systems that are among the best in the world.

Drydocks World – Dubai Wins Award

Drydocks World - Dubai, a ship repair, conversion and new building yard and flagship company of Drydocks World, won the Shipbuilding/Shiprepair Award at the Lloyd’s List Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards 2009 for the fifth consecutive year. In addition, Nawal Saigal, Managing Director, Drydocks World - Dubai, was named Personality of the Year for his strategic positioning of the shipyard, advocating investment and seizing opportunity in the downturn. The awards committee, comprising marine industry veterans, highlighted that these factors have helped Drydocks World - Dubai achieve a consistent performance and have boosted the morale of the marine industry in the UAE.

Drydocks World Dubai Wins SMEISA Award

Drydocks World - Dubai, the flagship ship repair, conversion and new building yard of Drydocks World has won the Ship Repair/Shipyard Award for the third time in a row at the 7th Seatrade Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards (SMEISA) 2009. The award was presented to Nawal Saigal, Managing Director, Drydocks World - Dubai, by Christopher Hayman, Chairman, Seatrade, at a gala ceremony in Dubai. Drydocks World – Dubai has been investing in state-of-the-art technology and training with the aim of providing high-quality services to the global shipping industry.

Drydocks World, BP Renew Partnership

Drydocks World – Dubai, the flagship ship repair, conversion and new building yard of Drydocks World, has renewed its long-standing association with BP Shipping with the signing of a new Alliance Agreement. According to the Agreement, signed by Nawal Saigal, Managing Director of Drydocks World – Dubai, and Dave Williamson, VP Fleet Operations of BP Shipping, the two companies will work closely to achieve optimum production levels based on mutually agreed terms, which includes strict implementation of accepted standards in safety, quality and environmental protection.
