Sovcomflot tankers Move one mi tonnes oil from Novy Port O&G condensate field

Sovcomflot’s three unique Arctic shuttle tankers, of the Shturman Albanov series, have now transported one million tonnes of crude oil produced at the Novy Port oil and gas condensate field, from the Gulf of Ob (Kara Sea) to the port of Murmansk. The milestone millionth tonne cargo of oil was loaded on Shturman Albanov on 29 January 2017 at the Arctic Gate marine terminal located near Cape Kamenny (Gulf of Ob). In total, SCF tankers have completed 33 voyages with Novy Port grade oil since last autumn. RS issues First Polar Ship Certificate

The first Polar Ship Certificate was issued by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS). The document was released by Murmansk Branch on 22 December, 2016 in the port of Murmansk to the tanker Shturman Albanov, owned by SCF Group. In connection with the Polar Code entering into force, the compliance with the requirements thereof is a precondition for ships operated in the Barents Sea, Cara Sea water area south of 60 S and in other seas included in the polar water. Yamal Reindeer Insured Against Natural Anomalies

The new draft law "On reindeer husbandry in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District" includes insurance of animals from death due to natural anomalies and expands the rights of herders. In Salekhard, today held a meeting of a working group to draft a new law "On reindeer husbandry in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District", the consideration of which is planned for 2016, according to Tass. 30 Rosneft Subsidiaries in All-Russian Environmental Cleanup Day

Thirty Rosneft subsidiaries in most of the regions of the Company presence, from Sakhalin in the east to the Arkhangelsk Region in the west, took part in the All-Russian Environmental Cleanup Day ‘Green Russia’. As part of the event, Rosneft subsidiaries workers made a vital contribution to the environmental situation improvement in towns, villages, and parks. The event was supported by the Russian Federation Ministry of Natural Resources, the Russian Federation Ministry of Regional Development, regional government executive bodies, and by non-governmental organizations. Companies of the Rosneft Group take part in this event for the second consecutive year.

New Russian Tax Credits Encourage Arctic Oil Exploration

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed off a new law on mineral extraction tax incentives for hydrocarbons produced in Yamal and the Nenets Autonomous District, reports official news agency Arctic-info. The document [signed] also refers to the resources that are extracted in Eastern Siberia, the Sea of Japan, the Gyda Peninsula and the Bazhenov Suite. According to the official online portal of legal information, the law was signed on June 28, 2014. A tax rate of 15% is set for hydrocarbon raw materials produced on new marine deposits. For a number of fields, the law introduces a zero rate of mineral extraction tax. In particular, for oil fields in Yakutia, the Irkutsk and Krasnoyarsk regions it will remain in effect until a level of oil production of 25 million tonnes is achieved.

TOTAL & LUKOIL To Develop Tight Oil In Bazhenov

Total signed today an agreement with Lukoil creating a joint venture (JV) to explore and develop the tight oil potential of the Bazhenov play in Western Siberia. Total will hold 49% of the JV and Lukoil 51%. This agreement finalizes the memorandum of understanding signed between the two companies in December 2013. The JV will assess the technical feasibility of developing the tight oil potential of the Bazhenov formation initially on 4 licenses covering an area of 2,700 km² in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District. Seismic acquisition will start in 2014 and exploration drilling will follow in 2015. Total will contribute its Lyaminskiy 3, Vostochno-Kovenskiy and Tashinskiy licences to the JV while Lukoil will add the Galyanovsky license.

Arctic Russia LNG Plant Contracts Awarded

Japan's JGC Corporation with France's Technip to carry out the EPIC & commissioning of an integrated facility for natural gas liquefaction at the Yamal Peninsular. The contract was awarded by JSC Yamal LNG, owned by NOVATEK (80%) and TOTAL (20%). The project will start immediately with a phase of estimation, detailed engineering and early procurement. The Yamal Peninsula located in Yamal-Nenets autonomous district of northwest Siberia, Russia, extends roughly 700 km (435 mi) and is bordered principally by the Kara Sea, Baydaratskaya Bay on the west, and by the Gulf of Ob on the east. The facility will have an annual production capacity of 16.5 million tons and will be based of the resources of the South Tambey Gas Condensate field located on the Yamal Peninsula, Russia.

Russian Yard Expects Arctic-class LNG Carrier Contract

United Shipbuilding Corporation may build four Arctic class LNG carriers for the Pechora LNG project in northern Russia. Developers of the project, Alltech's President Dmitry Bosov informed that preliminary agreements had been signed with Russia's United Shipbuilding Corporation for four ships with a deadweight tonnage of about 170,000 mt each, report Ria Novosti. The Pechora project includes development of the Kumzhinskoye and Korovinskoye fields in the Nenets Autonomous District, with construction of an LNG production plant, a gas treatment plant, and logistics infrastructure. According to Alltech, the LNG plant will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2018 if the design phase goes ahead in the first quarter of 2013. Source: Ria Novosti

Ice-class Tugboat Launched in Archangel Shipyard

Laysky Shipyard in Archangel, Russia, launches the 'Iskander' tugboat for delivery to Ecotek-Bunker after sea trials. The new tugboat will transport barges laden with coal, firewood, construction materials to remote areas of the Arkhangelsk region: Mezen, Kamenka, Onega, and to the Nenets Autonomous District. This is the second ice-class tug launched at Laysky Shipyard in the past eighteen months. The Laysky Shipyard is located in the Lay River estuary, a tributary of the Northern Dvina.

Statoil, Rosneft Sign Deal

Statoil and Rosneft today signed agreements on joint bidding for exploration licenses in the Norwegian Barents Sea and on Joint Technical Evaluation covering two Russian onshore assets. This concludes the first implementation agreements envisaged in the strategic cooperation that the two companies entered into on 5 May, 2012. The agreements were signed by Statoil CEO Helge Lund and Rosneft Chairman and President Igor Sechin at the World Economic Forum in St. Petersburg. "These agreements show that Statoil and Rosneft are moving rapidly to implement the cooperation agreement signed on 5 May," says Statoil CEO Helge Lund. "The speed with which we are proceeding reflects our joint commitment and determination to realize the potential of the strategic cooperation," he continues.
