Neptune Pacific Acquires Pacific Direct

Neptune Pacific Line, the provider of ocean freight services between Australia, New Zealand and Fiji, said that it has acquired Pacific Direct Line(PDL) from its Singapore based parent holding company, Pacific International Lines (PIL).The acquisition makes Neptune the new owners of all of PDL’s regional and Fiji based companies. The combined business will seamlessly link transport, warehousing, depots and customs clearance services and fully integrate customers’ supply chains across 18 South Pacific markets, it said in a press note."This purchase supports our long-term vision of creating the strongest and best regional network of shipping and logistics services in the Pacific Islands…

Polynesian Shipping Sold to Neptune Pacific Line

The Board of Polynesian Shipping Line Limited, Apia informed   that the business and the Company’s associated investments have been sold to Neptune Pacific Line Limited. The sale is as a going concern and will continue to provide services in the Australian and New Zealand trades to Fiji, the Samoas and the Kingdom of Tonga as well as the interisland trade. In addition, the existing global freight services to the Samoas and Tonga will continue and be developed further. It is informed that the relationships Polynesian Shipping Line Limited has established with customers and service providers over the last nine years are valued and the new owners will be working diligently with the Polynesian Shipping Line team to maintain and strengthen those relationships.

WSS New Zealand Introduces LRE Program

Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) New Zealand has announced the signing of its first Liferaft Exchange Program (LRE) contract with Neptune Pacific Line. “When we introduced them to the LRE concept they were extremely interested to see how it could work for their business," says Nigel Smith, General Manager WSS New Zealand and Pacific Islands. WSS New Zealand’s first assignment for Neptune Pacific was an exchange in Shanghai, where the crew were working to a very tight schedule with little more than 24 hours to deliver the complete set of five liferafts before the vessel sailed for Australia.
