Maritime Security a Year-Round Duty
While many Australians spend Anzac Day off work, Royal Australian Navy personnel around the world will remain on watch, contributing to global security, stability and prosperity. On operations in countries as far from home as Afghanistan and South Sudan, in regions such as the Middle East and in waters offAustralia’s northern borders. Their work is 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, but they will take some time off on 25 April to honour the sacrifices made by past and present service men and women. HMAS Ballarat is on a three-month deployment to South East Asia and will take part in a dawn service at Kranji War Memorial inSingapore with New Zealand service personnel.
DP World Invests in London Gateway
The Lord Mayor of the City of London, Fiona Woolf, welcomed the foreign direct investment by Dubai’s DP World into London Gateway, while visiting the recently opened deep-sea container port and Europe’s largest logistics park. During her visit, the Lord Mayor, climbed one of the world’s largest quay cranes to have an elevated view of the massive three square mile site, where work is underway for a Common User Facility and other proposed distribution centers. Hamburg Süd Calling at Ports In Japan
Hamburg, 25 March 2011. Immediately after the devastating results of the earthquake in Japan, Hamburg Süd set up a working group consisting of experts from various departments which is constantly monitoring the situation on the east coast of the Asian continent and can quickly and efficiently respond to any new developments. This working group today decided also to have the next vessel, the “Cap Isabel”, which operates in the Asia – Mexico/South America West Coast Service (ASPA), call at Japan on 1 April 2011.
