Videlina Georgieva has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Svitzer Australia.She will help drive regional growth and progress Svitzer’s decarbonization agenda and replaces outgoing Nicolaj Noes who will be leaving Svitzer to take on a new opportunity.Georgieva brings a deep understanding of Svitzer’s business and operations, including within Australia, where she has been part of delivering significant commercial results throughout her 13 years with Svitzer, and most recently as the organization's Global Chief Commercial Officer.

Svitzer Announces Lockout in Australia

Svitzer Australia, a subsidiary of A.P. Svitzer Australia Welcomes New Tugs

Svitzer Australia has welcome two new vessels to its fleet in 2019, as two UZMAR-built RAstar 3200 series tugboats begin the journey from Turkey to their respective home ports.A delivery ceremony was hosted by UZMAR on 12 March 2019 for the two tugboats, Svitzer Ruby and Svitzer Redhead.The 85-tonne bollard pull tug, Svitzer Ruby, will join Port Kembla in May 2019, and the 80-tonne bollard pull tug, Svitzer Redhead, will join the team in Fremantle in late April 2019.The vessels were designed by the reputable Canadian naval architecture firm Robert Allan Ltd.The two escort towage capable vessels feature render recovery winches, FiFi1 class notation for firefighting…

Maersk Line Opens New Container Depot

Maersk Line announced the opening of a new container depot at Nexus Industrial Estate in Altona, Australia, officially opened by Victorian Minister for Ports and Major Projects, the Hon. David Hodgett MP. Through taking over a 5ha facility, Maersk Line said it has become the anchor tenant at Salta Properties’ 40ha Nexus Industrial Intermodal Terminal at Altona. Salta Properties is developing two Nexus Industrial Intermodal Terminals, one in Altona and the second is a larger 180ha site at Dandenong South, which will open in the coming months.

Noes to Lead Maersk Line Australia

The A.P. Moller – Maersk Group today announced the appointment of Nicolaj Noes as the new Maersk Line Country Manager for Australia. Nicolaj will be responsible for the development and execution of strategy in Australia, overseeing sales, operations and customer service. The 39-year-old is scheduled to assume his new role from August 2, 2010 in Sydney, Australia. He reports directly to Jesper Praestensgaard, Chief Executive for Maersk Line Asia Pacific. “We are very pleased to have Nicolaj join our team. His vast industry knowledge, deep insights into the Oceania trade and long-standing shipping experience makes him a strong asset to Maersk Line and our customers.
