ASRY Launches Bahrain Coast Guard Landing Craft

ASRY has launched a new Landing Craft being constructed for the Bahrain Coast Guard (BCG), marking the latest checkpoint for the fully Bahrain-based project. The launch took place at ASRY in the Arabian Gulf in the presence of BCG Brigadier Ala Abdulla Seyadi, ASRY Chief Executive Nils Kristian Berge and other BCG officials. “Our close cooperation with the Bahrain Coast Guard has enabled us to stay on track for this landmark project for the Bahrain maritime sector,” confirmed ASRY New Construction & Engineering Senior Manager, Sauvir Sarkar, who is overseeing the project.

Lightfoot Joins ASRY’s Project Jupiter

ASRY, the ship and rig repair yard in the Arabian Gulf, has signed a specialized Services Agreement with Lightfoot Defence, a U.K.-based refrigeration and HVAC contractor, to become one of the yards onsite specialist contractors. Maher Named Ship Repair GM at ASRY

 Charles Maher is the new Ship Repair General Manager (GM) at ASRY, bringin 15 years of experience with top firms including Dormac, Grand Bahamas Shipyards, and Southern African Shipyards.

ASRY appointed Charles Maher as the new General Manager (GM) of the Ship Repair division, effective January 4, 2016. Maher brings more than 15 years worth of corporate and hands-on technical shipyard experience at Dormac Marine & Engineering, Grand Bahamas Shipyard, and Southern African Shipyards. He will lead the newly restructured Ship Repair division of ASRY. Maher’s appointment will overlap with the outgoing Ship Repair GM, Magdy Sharkawy, who retires in February, to ensure a comprehensive transition of the role and a seamless client handover.

ASRY Signs New UK Agent

ASRY (Arab Shipbuilding & Repair Yard), a shipyard in the Arabian Gulf, has signed a representation agreement with Shiprepairers & Shipbuilders Ltd (SRS) to exclusively market ASRY’s products, services and facilities to the U.K. shipping market. The move comes as part of ASRY’s strategic realignment of its agent network that has seen several new agents sign with ASRY recently. ASRY Inks UK Royal Navy Support Contract

ASRY and Babcock have signed a long term support facility agreement to provide ongoing services to the U.K. ASRY (Arab Shipbuilding & Repair Yard), a shipyard in the Arabian Gulf, has signed a long-term collaborative enabling agreement with U.K. engineering support services company Babcock to undertake maintenance work on U.K. Royal Navy warships in the Gulf. The agreement will cover work from general maintenance to specific projects such as the changing of diesel generators under the Sandown Volvo Generator Program.

Bahrain: ASRY Moves into New Vessel Construction

One of the world's premiere ship repair facilities, ASRY based in Bahrain, unveils its move into new vessel construction. ASRY signed an agreement with the Bahrain Coast Guard to design and construct a new Landing Craft for the transport of vehicles, potable water, and fuel. The craft, potentially the first of two, will be delivered in 2016. The contract, worth approximately $2.8m, marks ASRY’s first newbuild contract since launching the New Construction & Engineering division, which is tasked with growing the new construction program at the yard.

ASRY in Maritime Deal with Relay

UK-based engineering firm signs service agreement to provide direct services to vessels in ASRY, expanding the list of the yard’s onsite specialist contractors. ASRY, the leading ship and rig repair yard in the Arabian Gulf, has signed a specialized Services Agreement with Relay Engineering Limited, a specialist engineering company based in the UK, to offer its expertise in electrical, mechanical and constructive engineering directly to ASRY’s customers from a dedicated service point in the yard. During a ceremony held at ASRY’s headquarters, the major Service Agreement was signed under the umbrella of the ongoing Project Jupiter – an initiative to make ASRY the leading hub of onsite specialist contractors in the Arabian Gulf.

ASRY Rig Division’s Deliveries All on Time in 2014

In 2014, ASRY Offshore Services completed every one of its repair scopes within schedule, on-budget, and with leading safety standards. ASRY, a ship and rig repair yard in the Arabian Gulf, has confirmed that its Offshore division, which specializes in rig repairs, achieved 100% on-time delivery of all the rig projects completed in 2014. Global clients including Saudi Aramco, Saipem, Nabors Drilling, Egyptian Drilling Company and more chose ASRY for their rig repair projects last year, which totaled 17 rigs, and all took delivery of its vessels on schedule, and within budget. “With competition rising in the region, rig customers are more focused on ensuring that the maintenance of their assets is completed as efficiently as possible,” said ASRY Chief Executive, Nils Kristian Berge.

ASRY Chosen by KOTC for 19-ship Repair Deal

One of the largest exclusive ship repair block agreement in Arabian Gulf history, worth over $33 million, signed between ASRY and Kuwait Oil Tanker Company, extends to mid-2017. ASRY, the ship and rig repair yard in the Arabian Gulf, has signed a ship repair block agreement with Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC) which includes the exclusive maintenance rights to 19 vessels over the next two and half years. The agreement, is worth more than $33 million, and will see KOTC dock these vessels exclusively at the shipyard.

Goris brings more than 20 years worth of shipping experience with global leaders such as Damen, Maersk and Shell, with more than 12 years of that being in ship repair yards across Asia and the Americas.

Seven Seas Launches New Facility at ASRY

ASRY, ABB Industries Sign Agreement

Ship and rig repair specialist ASRY reports that it has signed a co-operation agreement with ABB Industries (LLC), Dubai, a division of ABB Turbocharging, a leader in the manufacture and maintenance of turbochargers for two-stroke and four-stroke engines for various types of vessels. The agreement will see ABB open a new workshop in ASRY, provide international factory warranties from ASRY, and provide onsite accessibility for ASRY customers to ABB’s worldwide Service Network.

ASRY Signs Solas Agreement

ASRY, a ship and rig repair yard in the Arabian Gulf, is expanding its range of in-yard services by signing a Service Agreement with Solas Marine Services Group. The Agreement will allow Solas to build a 2,000-square-meter Service Center for Life Boats, Life Rafts and Fire Fighting & Life Saving Appliances in ASRY, which will not only expand ASRY’s services portfolio, but also bring new business opportunities to the Kingdom itself. This is the first development in a program of increasing ASRY’s technical resources, which will continue to roll out in 2014.

ASRY Appoints New Chief Executive
