Viking Supply Ships Wins Work for Four AHTS Vessels

Offshore vessel operator Viking Supply Ships said Tuesday it had secured a seasonal contract with "a major construction company" for its four anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels of 1A and 1A Super ice classes. "The vessels will assist in a major industrial project in a harsh environment region in the summer of 2022 and 2023, with an option to extend operation for 2024," the company said, without sharing details on the location of the project.The contract covers 240 fixed days and up to 660 optional days. The estimated contract value for the fixed days, including mobilization and demobilization fees, is 18.5 million euros.Viking Supply Ships owns four AHTS vessels.

Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm: Equinor Renews Charter for Esvagt Njord SOV

Norwegian energy firm Equinor has awarded a 5-year contract extension to Danish offshore vessel owner Esvagt for the use of the Esvagt Njord vessel at the Dudgeon offshore wind farm in the UK. The extension runs until 2026.The SOV (Service Operation Vessel) ‘Esvagt Njord’ has been servicing Equinor at the wind farm off Great Yarmouth on the English east coast since the autumn of 2016.According to the Danish company, ‘Esvagt Njord’ was the third specially built SOV dedicated to offshore wind farms in Esvagt's fleet when it arrived as a newbuild in the autumn of 2016.

Esvagt SOV Rescues Injured Fishermen in the North Sea

Last Tuesday, the crew of the service operations vessel (SOV) Esvagt Njord helped save seven fishermen in distress near the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm in the U.K. North Sea.Esvagt Njord is a wind turbine ship assisting Equinor in the operation of the offshore wind farm off Great Yarmouth on the English east coast. Over the radio, skipper Brian Kristiansen heard a fishing vessel nearby calling for help, and when he responded, he learned that the ship was taking in water. BMT has introduced two vessel designs aimed at Taiwanese offshore wind operations.In March, BMT's Specialized Ship Design division attended an official keel laying ceremony for its new 36-meter service accommodation transfer vessel (SATV). Danish shipowner ESVAGT and offshore wind farm developer MHI Vestas have sealed long-term contracts for the delivery of two new service operation vessels (SOVs) for separate wind farms off the Netherlands and the U.K.The wind farm service vessels will work the fields Borssele 3-4, located 22 km off the coast of Zeeland in the Netherlands, and Triton Knoll, which is 33 km off the coast of Lincolnshire in England, which together will produce 1,600 MW green energy from 2021. The first in a series of two new 27-meter crew transfer vessels (CTV) designed by BMT for Njord Offshore has completed sea trials, reaching a top speed of 27 knots. Ocean Installer Gets Two SURF Contracts From Statoil

Norway's Ocean Installer has secured two subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF) contracts with Statoil for work on several fields offshore Norway. The subsea company has secured two contracts, comprising work from 2018 through 2020 on the Snorre, Troll, Njord, Åsgard, Bauge, Fenja and Dvalin fields, said a press statement.
