INSIGHTS: John Rynd / President , CEO and Director, Tidewater Inc.

Mr. John Rynd graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer and President, and as a director of Hercules Offshore from 2008 through 2016. Prior to his time with Hercules, Mr. Rynd spent 11 years with Noble Drilling Services, Inc., where he served in a variety of management roles. Earlier in his career, he served in various roles of increasing levels of responsibility with Chiles Offshore and Rowan Companies. Beyond this, Mr. Rynd served as Chairman of the National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) from 2014-15 and currently holds an Ex-Officio position on the Executive Committee. He serves on the Board of Directors of Fieldwood Holdings LLC, and was on the Board of Directors of Hornbeck Offshore, Inc.

Tidewater Names Rynd President, CEO

Tidewater Inc. (NYSE: TDW) appointed John T. Rynd as the company's new President and CEO and a member of the Board of Directors effective March 5. He replaces Larry T. Rigdon who has served as interim President and Chief Executive Officer since October of 2017. Tom Bates, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said "After completing a comprehensive search, the Board is very pleased to welcome John to the team. He brings with him considerable experience in the offshore drilling services sector and the global oil and gas industry as a whole. Rynd previously served as Chief Executive Officer and President, and as a director of Hercules Offshore from 2008 through 2016.

ABS Elects New Council

At the 150th Annual Meeting of the Members of ABS, three industry leaders were elected to the ABS Council. Following the Annual Meeting, the ABS Council met and elected industry leaders to both its Marine and Offshore Technical Committees. Individuals serving on the ABS Council and the Technical Committees help guide the class society in fulfilling its mission of promoting the security of life, property and the natural environment. “Classification represents the concept of self-regulation for the marine and offshore industry,” said ABS President and CEO Christopher J. Wiernicki.

Hornbeck Offshore New Directors, Promotion of Exec Officer

Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc. (NYSE: HOS) announced today that John T. Rynd and Kevin O. Meyers, Ph.D. have been appointed to its Board of Directors (the "Board"), effective June 23, 2011. Mr. Rynd and Dr. Meyers were appointed to fill the vacancies created by a prior resignation and the Board's decision to increase the number of its directors from seven to eight members. In addition, at the Company's Annual Meeting on June 23, 2011, the shareholders reelected Todd M. Hornbeck and Patricia B. Melcher to the Board. John T. Rynd. Since June 2008, Mr. Rynd, 54, has served as the Chief Executive Officer and President, and as a director, of Hercules Offshore, Inc. (NASDAQ: HERO), a publicly traded global provider of offshore contract drilling, liftboat and inland barge services.

Noble Drilling Files Suit

Noble Drilling Corporation, along with its subsidiaries Noble Drilling Services Inc. and Noble Drilling (U.S.) Inc., has filed suit against Samedan Oil Corporation and Mariner Energy, Inc. for breach of contract. In recent years, Noble Drilling has focused on increasing the number of rigs in its fleet capable of deepwater offshore drilling. A principal component of this deepwater strategy has been the conversion and upgrade of rigs to drill in water depths greater than 5,000 ft. Five of the six rigs in this program have been delivered under long-term contracts. Noble Max Smith was delivered on December 22, 1999 for use by Amerada Hess Corporation.
