Jim Miller, chairman of the Board of Directors of Philly Shipyard, has requested to step down from the board, to join the management team of Philly Shipyard, Inc. as Senior Advisor to the CEO.The Nomination Committee has nominated Kristian Rokke to return as Chairman of the Board.The remainder of the Board is proposed to remain unchanged, the shipbuilder said.Philly Shipyard was recently selected to build up to five new training ships for the U.S. maritime academies.
Magseis to Acquire Fairfield Seismic Technologies
Norwegian ocean-bottom seismic specialist Magseis entered into a $233 million deal to acquire the Seismic Technologies business from Fairfield Geotechnologies."Magseis will acquire the Seismic Technologies business from Fairfield comprising data acquisition, nodal and system sale & rental activities, including all shares in Fairfield's wholly owned U.K. subsidiary WGP Group," said a press release from the company.The name of the new business will be Magseis Fairfield. Cosco Pacific Appoints Zhang Wei as Vice Chairman
Cosco Pacific Ltd. has appointed Zhang Wei as vice chairman and managing director, replacing Qiu Jinguang who has stepped down from the positions with immediate effect, reports Dow Jones. "Qiu Jinguang has resigned as an Executive Director, the Vice Chairman and Managing Director and also resigned as an authorised representative as well as the Chairman of the Executive Committee, the Investment and Strategic Planning Committee and the Risk Management Committee, and a member of the Nomination Committee and the Remuneration Committee due to work commitments, with effect from today (April 27)," says a statement from the company. Odfjell Elects Klaus Nyborg Director of the Board
Odfjell SE’s Extraordinary General Meeting, held December 9, 2015, supported the Nomination Committee's proposal and elected Klaus Nyborg as new director of the Board. Nyborg, a Danish citizen, owns no shares in Odfjell SE and has no formal ties to major shareholders of the company, according to Odfjell. Nyborg was recently Interim CEO of DS Norden AS from 2014-2015, where he has also been on the board since 2012, and chairman since 2015. China Cosco President Resigns
China COSCO Holdings Company president Jiang Lijun has resigned from his position. Jiang Lijun will cease to be a member of the strategy and development committee and nomination committee of the Company upon his resignation taking effect. Jiang Lijun’s resignation was because he has reached the retirement age. Noreco CEO Quits
Norwegian Energy Company ASA (Noreco) announces that Tommy Sundt is stepping down as CEO of Noreco ASA. Since joining Noreco in September 2014, Tommy Sundt has played a very important role during the financial and corporate restructuring of the Company. Whilst Mr. Sundt’s role as CEO for the Noreco group will cease with effect from this announcement, Mr. Sundt will continue to fill the role as general manager for the Norwegian operations until the end of 2015. Mr. Sundt’s departure has been agreed with the Board and Mr. Sundt will receive severance payment in accordance with his contract. The Board of Noreco ASA will continue to lead the strategic initiatives and with Tommy Sundt stepping down, the Board will actively engage in the day-to-day management of the group of companies.
Kværner ASA in Board Changes
Trine Sæther Romuld has informed Kværner ASA that she resigns from her position as non-executive Director and Chair of the Board's Audit Committee of the Company with immediate effect. This is due to change in employment to a position without opportunity to hold directorships. According to Kværner ASA's Articles of Associations, the Board of Directors shall consist of six to ten members. Following the resignation of Ms Romuld, the Nomination Committee has decided not to propose replacing Trine Sæther Romuld before the next General Meeting, thus the Board of Directors of Kværner ASA now consists of eight Directors, whereof three employee-elected Directors.
Røkke is CEO of Akastor ASA
Akastor ASA announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Kristian Røkke as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Røkke will succeed Frank O. Recommendation from Statoil's Nomination Committee
The nomination committee in Statoil has recommended that the company's corporate assembly elects Øystein Løseth as new chair and Roy Franklin as a new member and deputy chair of Statoil's board of directors. Furthermore, the nomination committee recommends a re-election of Bjørn Tore Godal, Jakob Stausholm and Marjan Oudeman as members of the board of directors. Chair of the board Svein Rennemo and board member Jim Mulva have informed the nomination committee that they do not wish to stand for re-election in 2015. Statoil Approves Dividend Of NOK 7.00 Per Share

Marit Arnstad has announced that she will resign from her position as deputy chair and member of the board of directors in Statoil ASA (OSE: STL, NYSE: STO) effective immediately. Aker Philadelphia Shipyard announces new CEO
Kristian Røkke has been appointed President and CEO of Aker Philadelphia Shipyard ASA (AKPS). He replaces Jim Miller who has been appointed Executive Vice President of Aker Contractors’ US Onshore Engineering & Construction business and member of Aker Contractors’ new Executive Management Team. Mr. Miller is also nominated for the position as Chairman of the Board at Aker Philadelphia Shipyard. Kristian Røkke will take over as President and CEO of the Yard effective April 5, 2011. Nielsen Resigns from StatoilHydro
Kurt Anker Nielsen has informed StatoilHydro’s nomination committee that he is resigning from his position as board member on March 25, with immediate effect as a result of the way the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has handled the issue relating to the company name. Kurt Anker Nielsen was a board member of Norsk Hydro from 2004 to 2007. He has been a member of the board, and chair of the board's audit committee, of StatoilHydro since 1 October 2007. Aker Shareholder Asks for Extraordinary Shareholders Meeting
Aker Yards has received a request from Havyard Invest AS to schedule an extraordinary shareholders' meeting, to enable the shareholders to elect a new Board of Directors. Havyard says that the company will enter into a dialogue with Aker Yards' Nomination Committee in order to develop a proposal for the composition of a new Board of Directors. Aker Yards' ordinary Annual Shareholders Meeting is scheduled to take place in Oslo; Norway at 25 April 2008. Aker Yards will now process the request from Havyard Invest in line with the relevant legislation and procedures for listed companies. Aker Yards aims at announcing a date and time for an extraordinary shareholders meeting shortly.
New Director Proposed For Kværner ASA Board
The nomination committee of Kværner ASA has proposed Bjørn Flatgård as a new member of the company's Board. The proposal has been put forward after soundings were taken among Kvaerner's leading shareholders. "The nomination committee has made a point of proposing a director with industrial competence, international experience and integrity, and who moreover, will attend to the interests of all Kvaerner's shareholders," said Ragnhild M Wiborg, the committee head. The election of a new director will take place at Kvaerner's Annual General Meeting on 15 May. The vacancy on the Board arose in December 2001 when Helge Lund, having been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Kværner ASA, decided to resign from his seat on the Board. Bjørn Flatgård is Chief Executive Officer of Elopak AS.
