Navigator Gas Signs up for ShipServ

Navigator Gas, one of the world’s largest LPG vessel operators, has recently signed up to use ShipServ for all its procurement activities. The London-headquartered company recently took its ship management activities in-house based out of its Polish office in Gdynia and is now managing three vessels from Poland. The procurement tools and services available to Navigator Gas include ShipServ’s SpotSource and Supplier Recommendations service. The LPG operator will also use ShipServ’s range of purchasing KPIs based on the trading activities of more than 9,000 vessels.

ABS Forms Asset Performance Management Group

ABS, a provider of global maritime classification services, announced the formation of the Asset Performance Management Group (APMG). The new organization integrates several existing services into a single team focused on complete life cycle performance services that complement traditional classification services. "The future of classification requires ABS to work with our members and clients in a more collaborative, more efficient and less intrusive way," said ABS Chairman and CEO Christopher J. Wiernicki.

ABS Expands in Europe with Three New Contracts

ABS Nautical Systems signed three new contracts for use of its NS5 Enterprise software with Central Mare Inc., Consolidated Marine Management Inc. and C. Transport Maritime S.A.M. Athens-based, Central Mare Inc. plans to utilize the Energy & Environmental Manager, Maintenance Manager and Hull Inspection modules on two of its ABS-classed newbuilds. Consolidated Marine Management Inc., based in Piraeus, will implement the Energy & Environmental Manager and Hull Inspection modules on four of its ABS-classed newbuilds, as well as an additional vessel that transferred its class to ABS. C Transport Maritime S.A.M., based in Monte Carlo, Monaco, will implement the Energy & Environmental Manager and Hull Inspection modules on seven of its ABS-classed newbuilds.

ABS Nautical Systems signs Nordic Hamburg Shipmanagement

Nordic Hamburg Shipmanagement GmbH & Co. has signed a contract with ABS Nautical Systems to utilize multiple modules from the NS5 Enterprise software suite. The company is replacing its existing system with NS5 Enterprise because of its user-friendly features, system stability, effective customer support and robust replication and system administration mechanisms. Nordic Hamburg plans to install NS5 Enterprise’s Maintenance Manager, Purchasing and Inventory, HSQE Manager and Document Management modules in its first phase of implementation to its fleet of 12 container vessels and bulk carriers. The implementation will also include accounts payable, purchasing accrual and third-party eProcurment interfaces providing Nordic Hamburg with an integrated system for their accounting functions.

ABS Nautical Systems Gains Three Greek Customers

ABS Nautical Systems expands in Greece with contracts signed by Sun Enterprises Ltd., Quintana Shipping Ltd. and Nautilus Marine Acquisition Corp. All three companies will utilize ABS Nautical Systems’ Energy & Environmental Manager module through the ABS Newbuild Program, which offers complimentary software to ABS-classed vessels built after January 1, 2009. Sun Enterprises Ltd., located in Piraeus, serves as the consolidated operating company for a modern fleet of tankers and dry bulk carriers. The company will implement the software solution on three of its newly-built vessels. Quintana Shipping Ltd. located in Kifisia is an international provider of shipping transportation services through the ownership and operation of dry bulk vessels.

Software Solutions Debuts & Upgrades

ABS Nautical Systems will release in 2013 a new mobility platform for its NS5 Enterprise.

ABS Nautical Systems continually enhances its NS5 Enterprise software suite of products to meet ever-changing industry demands. Currently in development for release in 2013 are a mobility platform, a new warehouse and inventory management module, as well as a new Hull Inspection 3D module. The mobility platform supports portable devices including scanners, tablet PCs and smartphones. Features will include alert view notifications and mobile calendaring. Any customer with mobility support within the organization’s infrastructure can take advantage of this upcoming technology.

ABS Nautical Systems signs PT. Sumatra Wahana Perkasa’s

PT. Sumatra Wahana Perkasa has agreed to implement ABS Nautical Systems’ NS5 Enterprise software suite.   The Indonesian-based company did not have a current system in place and was in need of a solution to streamline its processes for better efficiency and felt ABS Nautical Systems’ offerings not only met, but exceeded its requirements and expectations. PT. Sumatra Wahana Perkasa will be utilizing the Maintenance Manager, Purchasing & Inventory, Crew Manager, Crew Payroll and the HSQE Manager modules on its entire fleet as well as its central office location.

ABS Nautical Systems Signs New Contracts

Pacific Drilling Services, Inc. has signed a contract with ABS Nautical Systems to implement the NS5 Enterprise Hull Inspection module on four of its drill ships through the ABS Offshore Newbuild Program. The Houston based company will also receive Survey Planning Documents for each drill ship. The primary intent of this document is to identify areas of the hull structure that are to be surveyed, which can then be used as a means for maintaining compliance with classification. Pacific Drilling Services will utilize these tools on their newest drill ships, laying the foundation for sound hull integrity for the entire service life of their vessels.

ABS Nautical Systems Signs Caspian Drilling Company

Caspian Drilling Company, based in Azerbaijan, will install ABS Nautical Systems’ NS5 Enterprise software on four of its drilling rigs. Three of these rigs will take advantage of the ABS Newbuild Program and the Transfer of Class Agreement Initiative (TOCA)* by implementing the Hull Inspection and Maintenance & Repair modules. A Survey Planning Document will be prepared for each of these rigs as well. Utilizing these offerings represents a savings of over $300,000 in software licenses, database development and consulting services.

ABS Nautical Systems Signs New Contact in Malaysia

Saujana Marine Sdn Bhd has signed an agreement for the use of ABS Nautical Systems’ NS5 Enterprise software on two of their 300 pax accommodation barges.   Based in Malaysia, Saujana Marine SDN BHD is an integrated marine support service company for the Oil & Gas industry.  The company will implement the Maintenance Manager and Drawings Management modules through the ABS Newbuild Program, which offers free software to ABS-classed vessels built after 1 January 2009. The Maintenance Manager software provides Saujana Marine SDN BHD the ability to track vessel maintenance trends including repair history, work orders, service requisitions, while Drawings Management allows access to an electronic library of vessel-specific drawings, images and documents.

ABS Nautical Systems Expands in the Middle East

ABS Nautical Systems has signed a contract with Arina Offshore (Fze) for use of its NS5 Enterprise software, marking the fourth new customer win in this region. The Dubai based company which specializes in vessel chartering and brokerage will utilize the Maintenance Manager module on one of its offshore vessels through the ABS Transfer of Class Agreement (TOCA) Initiative*. The TOCA Initiative offers free software to any vessel that transfers class into ABS. Arina Offshore (Fze) also will implement the Purchasing & Inventory module from the NS5 software suite on two additional vessels. These modules give Arina Offshore (Fze) the ability to proactively monitor maintenance trends as well as streamline purchasing, budgeting and inventory processes.

ABS Nautical Systems has signed two new contracts in Greece with Petrochem General Management S.A. and Opera S.A. for use of its NS5 Enterprise software. Reederei Claus-Peter Offen Selects ABS Nautical Systems

ABS Nautical Systems today announced that implementation of its NS5 Enterprise software suite has begun on Reederei Claus-Peter Offen’s fleet of container vessels. Based in Hamburg and one of the world’s largest suppliers of modern container tonnage, the company will be utilizing three modules from ABS Nautical Systems’ integrated software solution. Reederei Claus-Peter Offen purchased the Maintenance & Repair, Purchasing & Inventory and Voyage Management modules for its fleet of 103 vessels. These modules provide the tools to track maintenance expenses, upcoming drydocks and repairs, inventory replacement needs, fuel consumption and cargo operations across their entire fleet.

ABS Nautical Systems Sign Two New Customer in Greece. ABS Nautical Systems has signed contracts with TMS Bulkers Ltd. and TMS Dry Ltd. for use of its NS5 Enterprise software. The Greece based bulk carrier operating companies for the TMS group were both looking to improve the machinery and structural assessment programs that are already in place. Both companies will implement the Hull Inspection and Maintenance & Repair software through the ABS Newbuild Program, which offers free software to ABS-classed vessels built after 1 January 2009.

New Contract in North America for ABS Nautical

Otto Candies LLC, a marine transportation and towing company based in Louisiana, has signed a contract with ABS Nautical Systems for its NS5 Enterprise software. Otto Candies is implementing the Maintenance & Repair module on 20 of its offshore supply and diving vessels. They will be replacing their existing in-house system as a way to improve audit efficiencies. The Maintenance & Repair module allows vessel owners and operators to easily identify ship maintenance trends and efficiently plan for future maintenance work.

ABS Nautical Systems has signed two new contracts in Greece with Millenia Maritime Inc. and TMS Tankers Ltd. Both companies will benefit from the ABS Newbuild Program which offers free software to ABS-classed vessels built after 1 January 2009. Millenia Martime Inc. will be installing the Hull Inspection and Maintenance & Repair modules from the NS5 Enterprise software suite on nine of its ABS-classed chemical carriers as a way to test a potentially more user-friendly system.

ABS Nautical Systems Nets Two New Clients. ABS Nautical Systems has signed a contract with Samson Maritime Ltd. for the use of its NS5 software. Located in Mumbai, Samson Maritime Ltd., owns and operates a fleet of offshore supply vessels, maintenance tugs and workboats. Samson Maritime Ltd. has chosen to implement the Maintenance & Repair, Hull Inspection and Drawings Management modules as offered through the ABS Newbuild Program, which provides these modules free for the first year to all ABS-classed vessels built before 1 January 2009.
