Cadmatic, NCG Combine Business Operations

Press release - Cadmatic and Numeriek Centrum Groningen BV (NCG) have combined their business operations and continue as one company. Cadmatic Oy has acquired all the shares and business operations of Numeriek Centrum Groningen BV (NCG). This is valid from the 16th of September 2015. Cadmatic and NCG have 23 years’ successful cooperation in business and software development. As a result of the long cooperation the jointly developed NUPAS-CADMATIC software is a leading design and engineering software application in the shipbuilding industry.

Ship Constructor, Military pose some challenges. Madrid’s Sener Ingeniería y Sistemas S.A. (Sener) is hoping to regain a foothold via its FORAN CAD/CAM software in the North American market, and to use that opening to crack the Big Six military shipyards, landing at least one lucrative long-term contract. But first, it’s going to have get past its chief competition on these shores, Vancouver-based SSI’s ShipConstructor software, CATIA from Dassault Systèmes of France, and Nupas-Cadmatic, jointly owned by Numeriek Centrum Groningen B.V. of the Netherlands and Cadmatic Oy of Finland.

Ship Design Specialists Open New Asian Offices

Nupas-Cadmatic, CAD ship design software provider, opens new office in Goa, India and another in Singapore. Nupas-Cadmatic ship design software is a joint-venture product of Numeriek Centrum Groningen B.V. and Cadmatic Oy. The offices were established in response to the rapid expansion of Nupas-Cadmatic in Asia. The main purpose of the offices is to provide services to the Nupas-Cadmatic customers in the region in cooperation with the support team at the head offices in Europe. In India today there are two offices. Where sales management is done from the Mumbai office, support and sales assistance will come from the newly opened Goa office. The Singapore office will participate in providing local support to the Singaporean market.

Scheduled for a September 2003 release, the next major revision of the 3-D product modeling software for shipbuilding and offshore platforms from Albacore Research Ltd., ShipConstructor2004, will include a full Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning module (HVAC). HVAC is a fully integrated member of the ShipConstructor suite of Structure, Automatic and Manual Nest, NC Code generation, Outfit, Pipe, Fairing, and Lofting tools. To facilitate automatic report generation, HVAC makes full use of ShipConstructor's SQL Server product database. As with all ShipConstructor modules, HVAC is a full 3-D modeling package; this reduces drafting errors and time-to-production. With ShipConstructor, HVAC ducts are full-featured AutoCAD entities.
