Bordelon Marine Renews Charter Deal with Oceaneering

Lockport, La. based Bordelon Marine announced it has renewed the charter agreement with Oceaneering International for the Brandon Bordelon; 260-foot-long DP2 Jones Act compliant ultra-light intervention vessel for an additional two-year firm term plus one-year additional option. The charter agreement renewal commenced in March 2024.The 2015-built vessel is mobilized with two Oceaneering Millennium Plus work class remotely operated vehicles (ROV) and Oceaneering survey equipment and technology.

U.S. based offshore vessel owner Bordelon Marine LLC said it has renewed the charter agreement with Oceaneering International, Inc. for the MV Brandon Bordelon; 260’ DP2 Jones-Act-compliant ultra-light intervention vessel for an additional two-year firm term.The charter agreement renewal commenced in February 2022. The vessel is currently oprtating in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, according to AIS ship tracking data.The vessel is mobilized with two Oceaneering Millennium Plus work class remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROV) and Oceaneering survey equipment and technology.

Catastrophic Engine Damage Led to OSV Fire -NTSB

Catastrophic engine damage led to the fire aboard the U.S. -flagged offshore supply vessel Ocean Intervention near Honolulu, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said.No pollution or injuries to the 16 crewmembers were reported in connection with the mechanical failure, which resulted in a fire in the engine room on December 19, 2020. The crew isolated the fire before it could spread throughout the vessel.The Ocean Intervention, a 243-foot-long, steel-hulled vessel, was built in 1998 and operated by Oceaneering International, Inc.

Equinor Extends Oceaneering Contract

Thomas Chance founded C & C Technologies in his home in 1992. Today C & C is a global oil field surveying and mapping company with more than 550 employees in ten offices worldwide. In US Gulf, Robots, Drones Take on Dangerous Offshore Oil Work

At BP's massive Thunder Horse oil platform in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, a dog-sized robot called Maggie uses magnetic tracks to creep along pipes connecting the giant oil facility to the sea floor. Before MaggHD, dubbed "Maggie" by BP, the dangerous inspection job was reserved for highly paid specialist technicians who did their jobs while rappelling along the platform. The energy industry has turned to robots and drones to cut costs and improve safety in some of the world's tougher working environments. Drones inspect gear high up on floating rigs.

Oceaneering Acquires Ecosse Subsea

Houston-headquartered Oceaneering International has, through one of its wholly-owned subsidiaries, acquired the Aberdeen-based Ecosse Subsea Limited for approximately GBP 50 million (US$69 Million). Headquartered in Aberdeen, Scotland, Ecosse builds and operates seabed preparation, route clearance and trenching tools for submarine cables and pipelines on an integrated basis that includes vessels, ROVs and survey services. Enabling technologies acquired in the transaction include Ecosse's modular SCAR Seabed System, capable of completing the entire trenching work scope (route preparation, boulder clearance, trenching and backfill), and its newly developed SCARJet trenching system.

New Platform for Managing Liquid Terminal Product Movements

IMCA eCMID Workshop to be Held in Stavanger

The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) holds regular workshops to engage with the eCMID community including vessel operators, inspectors, and clients. The next workshop being held at Oceaneering International’s facility in Stavanger, Norway on the afternoon of Monday May 29, like all such workshops in 2017, has as its core theme how IMCA vessel inspection tools can assist in vessel assurance efforts for offshore contractors – in particular, for vessels brought out of lay-up, and as part of ISM code requirements.

Oceaneering Wins NOIA Safety Award

The National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) today named Oceaneering International, Inc. as the recipient of the 2016 Safety-in-Seas (SIS) Safety Practice Award. Kevin McEvoy, CEO of Oceaneering International, accepted the award at the NOIA annual meeting in Washington, DC. “We are very pleased to be selected for this prestigious recognition. Through rigorous risk analysis with our customer, we developed multiple redundant, fail-safe systems to safely conduct these complex subsea operations in deep water,” said Kevin McEvoy, CEO of Oceaneering International, Inc. BP Pulls Plug on Oceaneering Vessel Contract

UK giant BP will end a contract off Angola with Oceaneering International about eight months early. Oceaneering International has announced that BP has exercised its right to terminate its use of the chartered vessel Bourbon Oceanteam 101 at the end of May 2016. Prior to this notice, the work was scheduled to extend through the end of January 2017. Under the terms of the contract, the costs incurred by Oceaneering associated with the early release and demobilization of the vessel are expected to be reimbursed by BP.
