Bordelon Marine Renews Charter for Brandon Bordelon

U.S. based offshore vessel owner Bordelon Marine LLC said it has renewed the charter agreement with Oceaneering International, Inc. for the MV Brandon Bordelon; 260’ DP2 Jones-Act-compliant ultra-light intervention vessel for an additional two-year firm term.The charter agreement renewal commenced in February 2022. The vessel is currently oprtating in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, according to AIS ship tracking data.The vessel is mobilized with two Oceaneering Millennium Plus work class remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROV) and Oceaneering survey equipment and technology.

Catastrophic Engine Damage Led to OSV Fire -NTSB

Catastrophic engine damage led to the fire aboard the U.S. -flagged offshore supply vessel Ocean Intervention near Honolulu, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said.No pollution or injuries to the 16 crewmembers were reported in connection with the mechanical failure, which resulted in a fire in the engine room on December 19, 2020. The crew isolated the fire before it could spread throughout the vessel.The Ocean Intervention, a 243-foot-long, steel-hulled vessel, was built in 1998 and operated by Oceaneering International, Inc.

NOIA Elects McEvoy, Chairman Welch Vice Chair

The National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) Board of Directors has elected Kevin McEvoy as Chairman and Dave Welch as Vice Chairman for the upcoming 2016-2017 term. Oceaneering Wins NOIA Safety Award

The National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) today named Oceaneering International, Inc. as the recipient of the 2016 Safety-in-Seas (SIS) Safety Practice Award. Kevin McEvoy, CEO of Oceaneering International, accepted the award at the NOIA annual meeting in Washington, DC. “We are very pleased to be selected for this prestigious recognition. Through rigorous risk analysis with our customer, we developed multiple redundant, fail-safe systems to safely conduct these complex subsea operations in deep water,” said Kevin McEvoy, CEO of Oceaneering International, Inc. Shell Charters Oceaneering Vessel for IMR

Oceaneering International, Inc. has entered into a two-year, multiservice vessel charter agreement with Shell Offshore Inc. for use of the Ocean Alliance in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico (GOM) commencing January 1, 2015. The Ocean Alliance is a U.S. flagged vessel built in 2010 with an overall length of approximately 309 feet (94 meters), a Class 2 dynamic positioning system, accommodations for 69 personnel, a helideck, a 150-ton active heave compensated crane and a working moonpool.

Oceaneering Exercise Charter Options on DP2 CSV

Oceanteam Shipping ASA says that Oceaneering International, Inc. has exercised both one year options on the CSV 'Bourbon Oceanteam 101' up to February 2017. The vessel will continue its field support services for work offshore Angola on blocks 18 and 31. Upon delivery in December 2007, this DP2 Construction Support Vessel has been operating as a field support vessel with BP Angola for the company's Greater Plutonium Field development (in Block 18). Oceaneering Acquires Port Vision Parent, AIRSIS

Oceaneering International, Inc. says it has acquired AIRSIS Inc., a provider of remote asset management software services. AIRSIS’ signature service, PortVision®, provides web-based location reporting on commercial vessels. AIRSIS’ revenue for 2013 was approximately $7 million, and its future financial results will be included in Oceaneering’s Subsea Projects segment. Oceaneering explains that this acquisition is expected to enhance its current asset tracking service offered on offshore drilling rigs and vessels engaged in subsea activities. Asset tracking information is utilized by customers to establish a common operating picture, which improves operational efficiency and enables incident and emergency response collaboration and reporting.

Department of Defense, informs that Oceaneering International, Inc., Hanover, Maryland, is being awarded $8,941,224 for cost-plus-fixed-fee task order 0004 under a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract (N00014-11-D-0327) for the Advanced Mooring System (AMS) Phase III Development. The vessel will be used to augment Oceaneering’s ability to provide subsea intervention services in the ultra-deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Oceaneering International, Inc. has commissioned the construction of a subsea support vessel from BAE Systems, expected to be delivered by the end of the first quarter of 2016. The new ship will be U.S. flagged and documented with a coastwise endorsement by the U.S. Coast Guard. It will have an overall length of 353 feet, a Class 2 dynamic positioning system, accommodations for 110 personnel, a helideck, a 250-ton active heave compensated crane, and a working moonpool. Two 13,000 foot-rated Oceaneering work class remotely operated vehicles will also be provided.

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics, completed the comprehensive risk reduction program for the U.S. Navy’s Knifefish Surface Mine Countermeasure Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (UUV) program. Designed to discover any potential systems defect early on in the program’s development phase, the configuration item test (CIT) successfully verified key components within the UUV system including the hardware architecture and critical areas of hardware and software integration.

The 2013 Ship Repair Tradesmen of the Year were recently honored by the Virginia Ship Repair Association (VSRA). Steven Pulliam, an Outside Machinist from Oceaneering International, Inc. He was recruited to be a core member of the Shop Mechanical Team due to the high quality of his workmanship. He is a mentor to the Freshman class for his company’s Apprentice Program. He created a form that concisely documents deficiencies in components that are received for refurbishment which has been instrumental in reducing the number of hours required to create a Condition Report by at least 25%.

HII Bolster Government and Customer Relations Team

Huntington Ingalls Industries made two appointments to its government and customer relations leadership team. Carolyn E. Apostolou has been named vice president for legislative affairs (Senate), and Vice Adm. John "Jay" Donnelly (U.S. Navy, Ret.) has been named vice president of program integration and assessment. Apostolou joined on April 29, and Donnelly reported on May 6. Both report to Mitchell B. Waldman, corporate vice president, government and customer relations. "Carrie and Jay come to us with several decades of experience in their respective fields," Waldman said.

Oceaneering Announces Vessel Charter

Oceaneering International, Inc. (NYSE:OII) has announced that it has entered into a five-year charter for use of the Cade Candies, a multi-service subsea support vessel owned by Otto Candies LLC. The charter is expected to commence during the second quarter of 2013. This state-of-the-art, U.S. flagged vessel was built in 2010. It has an overall length of approximately 309 feet (94 meters), a Class 2 dynamic positioning system, accommodations for 69 personnel, a helideck, a 150-ton active heave compensated crane, and a working moonpool. Oceaneering's current rolling, short-term charter contract on the Cade Candies, in place since November 2011, will continue through early 2013. At that time, the vessel will enter a shipyard to undergo modifications to enhance its project capabilities.

Oceaneering: $47.5m Navy Contract Modification

Oceaneering International, Inc., Chesapeake, Va., is being awarded a $47,429,395 modification to previously awarded contract (N65540-05-D-0012) to provide continuing Subsafe engineering and technical services to support submarine, Subsafe, and Level I material work onboard Seawolf (SSN 21) class, Los Angeles (SSN 688) class, Ohio class (SSBN), and Virginia class submarines.  Work will be performed in Puget Sound, Wash. (60 percent), Norfolk, Va. (30 percent), and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (10 percent), and is expected to be completed by May 2014.  Contract funds in the amount of $15,000,000 dollars will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Ship Systems Engineering Station, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity.

Dive Support Vessel Ocean Project Sold

Marcon International Inc. of Coupeville, Wash. announced the sale of the dive support vessel Ocean Project from Oceaneering International, Inc. of Houston, Texas to private South American interests. The Vanuatu-flagged Ocean Project (ex-Rambo, 0601, George E. Darby, Janie B, Cathy B, Nordic Offshore) was built in 1972 by Bel-Aire Shipyard, Ltd. of North Vancouver, British Columba, Canada as an offshore supply vessel and classed ABS +A1, Ice Class A, Towing Service, +AMS, Unrestricted.

Oceaneering Announces New Diving Vessel

Oceaneering International, Inc. (NYSE:OII) announced it has commissioned the construction of a dive support vessel (DSV) with an estimated capital cost of $17m. Oceaneering expects delivery of the 200 ft by 46 ft vessel from a U.S. Gulf Coast shipyard late in the fourth quarter of 2010. The new vessel will replace the Ocean Project, which was built in 1972. This state-of-the-art DSV will be U.S. flagged and outfitted to perform subsea inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) services and support construction operations in the Gulf of Mexico. The vessel will have built-in diving equipment, including a dive control system and decompression chambers, to maximize the availability of deck space for job specific equipment and to ensure safe working conditions.

New Navy Contracts

Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding, Inc., Newport News, Va., is being awarded a $28,000,000 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-08-C-2100) for planned and growth supplemental work for the accomplishment of the fiscal year 2008 Extended Drydocking Selected Restricted Availability (EDSRA) of USS Enterprise (CVN 65). The CVN 65 FY08 EDSRA is a ship depot availability of approximately 16-month duration. EDSRAs are similar to overhauls in that they restore the ship, including all subsystems that affect combat capability and safety, to established performance standards. Additionally, an EDSRA provides an opportunity to perform hull inspections and recoating, and other maintenance related evolutions below the waterline that cannot be accomplished while the ship is waterborne.

Oceaneering Receives Naval Funding

Oceaneering International Inc., Chesapeake, Va., is being awarded an $11,984,265 firm-fixed-price contract for the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) service life extension program (SLEP) for the LCACs 30 and 56. The LCAC SLEP will extend the service life of LCAC from 20 to 30 years, sustain/enhance craft capability, replace obsolete electronics, repair corrosion damage, reduce life cycle cost by improving reliability and maintainability, increase survivability, and establish a common configuration baseline. The LCAC SLEP scope of effort includes repair and upgrade of the buoyancy box, gas turbine engine replacement, installation of a new skirt, installation of an integrated C4N equipment package, and accomplishment of selected craft alterations and repair work.
