Roller Names Flynn Marine and Offshore Supplier

U.K.-based refrigeration and air-conditioning specialist Flynn has been appointed as an official supplier for German refrigeration firm Roller, the company announced. As part of the deal, the Birkenhead business will act as a worldwide distributor for Roller’s marine and offshore products typically fitted inside cold rooms on board vessels. Flynn managing director Alex Flynn said the deal with the Gerlingen-based firm, which specializes in the manufacture of fan coil units, air coolers and heat exchangers, further boosts Flynn’s product range.

B&G, official supplier to The Volvo Ocean Race, has teamed up with journalist and author Mark Chisnell to create a series of weekly blogs providing behind the scenes insights into the race’s tactics and results. Starting with a preview of the first leg of the Volvo Ocean Race 2014-15 from Alicante to Cape Town, the former America’s Cup Navigator, sailing journalist, marine electronics expert and author will provide B&G with exclusive weekly, in-depth technical analysis of the action as it unfolds on the racecourse.

Seaspan Launches Supplier Self-Registration Portal

Seaspan Marine Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of its Supplier Self-Registration Portal. The multi-year shipbuilding program that Seaspan is undertaking requires a large number of varied suppliers. This new portal will establish a single database of all potential suppliers to match procurement operations with profiles. It will also establish more rigor in supplier qualification and development. “We are in the early stages of developing a procurement strategy to support the National  Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy (NSPS) program, and this is the first step in building key partnerships with our established and future suppliers,” said Brian Carter, Seaspan Shipyards president.

Kelvin Hughes, Supplier for World Yacht Race

Kelvin Hughes has become the official supplier of electronic and paper charts for the Clipper 09-10 Round the World Yacht Race. During the race, ten identical stripped down ocean racing yachts will battle it out over 35,000 miles. Kelvin Hughes will be supplying Admiralty electronic and paper charts and their Chart Correction Team is busy updating the Clipper chart outfits, providing ten folios ahead of the race start from the Humber on 13 September. Costa Crociere Opens New Offices

Costa Crociere is expanding its presence in the Benelux countries and in Emilia Romagna. In December 2002, the Genoese company will open one new commercial office in Bologna and one in Brussels, with the aim of significantly strengthening its development on the European market and promoting the Costa trademark in the Benelux countries and in Emilia Romagna. Costa’s new office in Brussels, which is due to open officially towards the end of 2002, will be in charge of sales and promotion of Costa cruises in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. It will be managed by Patrick J. Pourbaix, with his assistants Aurelie Vermeulen, responsible for the French-speaking market, and Eveline Vanderstraeten, responsible for the Flemish-speaking market.
