From Telford Offshore to KNOT Offshore: Derek Lowe Named New CEO and CFO

Shuttle tanker owner KNOT Offshore Partners will appoint Derek Lowe as new Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer with effect from the week of September 11, 2023.The new appointment comes following the decision of Gary Chapman to step down as the Partnership’s CEO/CFO announced on April 10, 2023. Lowe will join the KNOT Offshore Partners from Telford Offshore, a provider of accommodation, construction, and pipelaying in the global offshore energy services industry. He has served as the Group Company Secretary of Telford Offshore since its formation in 2018, having provided consultancy services to its predecessor since 2015. He worked from 2011 to 2015 for the debt capital markets group of Pareto Securities, and from 1994 to 2010 for the equity capital markets group of UBS. Mr.

POSH Buys Boa Deep C Offshore Construction Vessel

Singapore-based offshore energy services provider PACC Offshore Services Holdings (“POSH”) has agreed to buy the 119-meter long, DP-3 offshore construction vessel ‘BOA Deep C’ from Norway's BOA OCV AS. The vessel will be renamed ‘POSH Deep C’ and will join the POSH fleet in October 2022. POSH said the addition of the multipurpose Offshore Construction Vessel (“OCV”), built in 2003, was part of its strategy to increase its service offerings. James Fisher Names Vernet CEO

U.K.-based marine services company James Fisher and Sons plc announced it has appointed Jean Vernet as chief executive officer.He will take up this position on September 5, 2022, succeeding Eoghan O’Lionaird who will step down from his position on the board and as CEO. O’Lionaird will  remain employed by the group until June 13, 2023, to ensure a smooth and effective transition of responsibility.Vernet has considerable experience working in the offshore energy sector in both the U.K. and around the world. Most recently, he was CEO of Smiths Group’s largest division, John Crane.

Boskalis to Install Power Packs on Offshore Energy Branch Vessels

Dutch marine and offshore energy services firm Boskalis said Monday it would convert vessels within its Offshore Energy division into hybrid vessels through the retrofitting of Energy Storage Systems, or ‘power packs’. "The conversions, which entail a sizable capital investment, will reduce the vessels’ fuel consumption and associated carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions by an average of up to twenty percent. Subsea 7 to Invest in Xodus Group

Leading global contractor in seabed-to-surface engineering, construction and services to the offshore energy industry Subsea 7 S.A. and Chiyoda Corporation announced that Subsea 7 has agreed to acquire a 60% holding in Xodus Group, a leading energy consultancy, from Chiyoda. Yokohama-based Chiyoda, which provides services in the fields of engineering, procurement and construction on a global basis for gas processing, will retain a 40% holding as a joint venture partner. Subsea 7 offer for Seaway Heavy Lifting

Subsea 7 S.A. announced that one of its wholly owned subsidiaries has made an offer to acquire the 50% shareholding in Seaway Heavy Lifting Holding Limited currently owned by K&S Baltic Offshore (Cyprus) Limited. The terms of the offer are binding on Subsea 7 until 1 July 2017. During this period the Works Council representing the employees of Seaway Heavy Lifting in the Netherlands will be consulted in compliance with Dutch law. Seacat Services Invests In New Vessels

Offshore energy support vessel operator Seacat Services has placed an order for up to four new vessels with local boat builder South Boats IoW. The DNV-GL class-certified next generation 23- and 27-meter catamarans have been specifically designed to cater for the changing needs of European offshore projects. As the offshore wind industry matures, the expectations of developers and operators regarding energy support vessel availability, reliability and passenger comfort, are continuing to grow. In established markets, such as the U.K. and Germany, larger, deepwater projects are commencing construction, and the latest 27-meter vessel, Seacat Enterprise, will provide a new platform with which to serve these projects.

Jaya Delivers Vessel to Atlantic Towing

Offshore energy services provider, Jaya Holdings Limited, has delivered its second newbuild ice class anchor handling tug supply vessel to Canadian buyers, Atlantic Towing Limited. The 16,000-BHP vessel was delivered on February 7, 2014 in Singapore and was christened the Atlantic Merlin at a naming ceremony held earlier today. She was previously known as Jaya Sovereign until her delivery to Atlantic Towing. Atlantic Merlin is a sister ship of Atlantic Kestrel, which was delivered to Atlantic Towing in November 2012. Sheshashayee added, “This delivery begins another busy period for us and is the first of four new buildings for Jaya in 2014 and the other three ships will be operated in Jaya’s growing fleet.

Jaya Reports 2013 Earnings

Offshore energy services provider, Jaya Holdings Limited has reported consolidated revenue of $29.6 million and net profit of $7.6 million for the financial quarter ended September 30, 2013. The group’s revenue for the quarter under review was $29.6 million. Excluding the vessel sale, the quarter’s revenue was 12% higher than the previous corresponding quarter. This was due to improved charter utilisation of 91% compared to 84% in the previous corresponding quarter, on the same fleet size of 28 vessels. The group’s net profit for 1Q FY2013 was $7.6 million. Excluding nonrecurring items and gain from a vessel sale, this quarter’s net profit was 15% higher than that of the previous corresponding quarter.

Jaya Secures Long Term Charter for Vessel Under Construction

Offshore energy services provider Jaya Holdings Ltd. announced the long term charter of its first high-specification Multi-Purpose Maintenance and Accommodation Vessel (MPMAV) Jaya Privilege. This vessel is one in a range of sophisticated service vessels that Jaya is designing and building for its target markets, the company said. Jaya Privilege is expected to be delivered in June 2015 and construction is now underway. Jaya Privilege has more than 800 square meters of clear deck space, fire fighting capability and dynamic positioning to DP-2 class. The vessel has accommodation for up to 239 people on board, including workout equipment and an internet café and an electrohydraulic lattice boom crane with a lifting capacity of 50MT with man riding capability.

Offshore energy services provider Jaya Holdings Ltd. reached an agreement to sell a second new state-of-the-art anchor handling tug supply vessel Jaya Sovereign to Canadian buyers, Atlantic Towing Ltd. Jaya Wins $60 million in Long-term Charters

Offshore energy services provider Jaya Holdings Ltd. announced that the Group has signed contracts for three of its four newbuild platform supply vessels (PSVs) ahead of their delivery dates from the shipyard. The total value of these three contracts is more than $60 million, including optional extension periods. Jaya’s first high specification PSV Jaya Valour will deliver at the end of July and has been fixed into a time charter contract for up to three years in South East Asia with an existing customer undertaking fracturing work. Jaya Valour has more than 1,000 square meters of clear deck space, fire fighting capability and dynamic positioning to DP-2 class. The vessel has accommodation for up to 60 people on board including workout equipment and an internet café.

D.F. International logistics service provider D.F. Young, Inc. has announced the relocation of its headquarters office from New York City to Jersey City, N.J. in the first quarter of 2001. The company is leasing 14,000 sq. ft. at 1 Journal Square in Jersey City, after operating from downtown New York for most of its 97-year history. "When this company was started in 1903, all the shipping companies and banks were located in downtown Manhattan," said Thomas Mosimann, president of D.F. Young. "But the port has moved, and most of the other forwarders have followed it to New Jersey over the last 10 to 15 years. D.F.Young already has its Marine Department located in Port Elizabeth, N.J., as well as offices across the U.S. in Jamaica, N.Y.
