Romania Defuses Drifting Mine off Black Sea Coast

Romania's military carried out late on Sunday a controlled explosion of a naval mine that had drifted close to the country's Black Sea shore, the defense ministry said.Mines began floating in the Black Sea after Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24, and Romanian, Bulgarian and Turkish military diving teams have been defusing those drifting in their waters.Russia and Ukraine accuse each other of planting them.The Black Sea is crucial for shipment of grain, oil and oil products. Offshore Vessel Hits Platform at South Pars Field, Off Iran

An offshore vessel has this week allided with an offshore gas platform in Iran's South Pars gas field, according to Pars Oil and Gas Company.The incident happened Wednesday when the vessel hit the SPD12B gas platform in the Persian Gulf.A photo shared by POGC shows a vessel could be a fast crew supplier-type. The company didn't share vessel details.According to POGC, there were no casualties and the deck of the platform was unaffected by the incident.POGC said the cause of the accident was under investigation, and that gas production from the platform continued uninterrupted.

Inpex to Ship First Ichthys LNG Cargo by End of September

Inpex said it expects to ship first cargo from its Ichthys liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Australia by the end of September after safety issues have been resolved, maintaining an earlier schedule.Australian regulators had discovered safety issuess on the Ichthys offshore gas platform and was considering enforcement action.The Inpex-operated Ichthys LNG project carried out an inspection mainly on electrical equipment during the process of final safety verifications in cooperation with Australian regulators, in preparation for the start-up of production.

DBR to Deliver Custom Gas Genset for Platform E17a-A

DBR Generatorsets is on course to complete construction of a gas engine driven generator set for GDF SUEZ E&P Nederland B.V. in time for installation on the E17a-A platform at the end of the year. Due to space restrictions on the existing platform, DBR is fabricating a custom engineered generator set. “We are using a modified design to deal with the lack of space on the platform,” said DBR Sales Manager Henri Hafkamp. At their in-house production facilities, DBR is engineering this generator set within a single instead of the usual double frame due to the limited space involved.

HBG Unit Wins Offshore Order

Hollandsche Beton Group (HBG) reportedly won a $14 million order from Hague-based Elf Petroland BV to design and build an unmanned offshore gas platform.
