OMM Calls EU, UK for Talk on Offshore Wind Firms

Harwich Dock & OMM Get Dong Offshore UK Cable Services Contract

The Harwich Dock Company (HDC) and Offshore Marine Management (OMM) have secured a significant long term contract with DONG Energy, one of the leading energy groups in Northern Europe, to provide cable storage and management services at the Harwich Navyard in Essex. The first project of this long-term agreement will see OMM providing cable engineering, commissioning, consultancy and general cables services at Harwich Navyard to support DONG Energy’s wind farm operations and maintenance works. HDC enlisted the expertise of OMM as cable industry specialists when the opportunity arose to provide a cable storage O&M hub for DONG Energy. HDC worked successfully with OMM in 2011, providing local facilities to OMM during the installation of array cables for the Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm.

Acclaimed Launches EPOCH for OMM

Software specialists The Acclaimed Software Company Ltd. announced the development of EPOCH , a marine management system on behalf of Offshore Marine Management Limited (OMM). EPOCH is an ESRI-GIS, web-based management system, providing reporting from offshore sites to onshore bases. For example, OMM’s German subsidiary uses EPOCH to manage and control guard vessel operations for offshore wind interconnector installations in the German sector of the North Sea. The Acclaimed are inviting visitors to Oceanology International in March at London’s Excel Center to try out this novel management tool on their Stand Number H555. EPOCH allows operators to manage their offshore assets, vessels, operations, personnel and data from  one comprehensive system.

OMM Reports Wind Farm Guard Vessel Business Boom

UK-based Offshore Marine Management (OMM) say that its Guard Vessels business has shown a strong performance in 2013 with 4,728 vessel management days recorded and a number of key industry relationships forged. The company informs it has been working closely with its vessel partner has provided guard vessels for a number of high profile wind farm interconnectors, including Borwin 2, Helwin 1, Dolwin 1 and Sylwin 1. This has allowed Offshore Marine Management (OMM) to build strong relationships with TenneT, Prysmian, ABB and EMAS including other market leaders.

OMM Contracted to Keep Trawlers Off Subsea Cable

Offshore Marine Management Ltd (OMM) to keep the fishing community advised about the new 96 fibre subsea telecom cable linking Ireland and Wales. Offshore Marine Management Ltd (OMM), the UK’s independent services provider to the renewables, telecoms and hydrocarbon industries, is to provide fisheries liaison services to Emerald Bridge Fibres Ltd (EBFL), a joint venture between Geo Networks Ltd (Geo), and Ireland’s wholesale telecom provider ESB Telecoms Ltd. OMM was responsible for the delivery of the marine phase of this challenging project, which provides a 96 fibre subsea telecoms link between Portmarnock, Ireland and Porth y Post, Wales.

Dogger Bank (UK) Cable Route: OMM Completes Assessment

Offshore Marine Management (OMM) completes a feasibility study for Forewind’s planned North Sea wind energy development. The study was undertaken to assess route feasibility options along one of the development’s 160km long export cable corridors. The scope of work required OMM to analyse survey data, establish a Burial Protection Index (BPI) and carry out a burial assessment to recommend cable burial depths along the route. This was used to advise on the potential need for corridor widening and cable protection measures, including advising on appropriate techniques for cable burial and protection along the route. Marine Personnel Agency Sold by OMM

Offshore Marine Management Limited (OMM) to sell its  agency Main Source Offshore People Limited (MSOP) to Atlas Services Group Energy Limited. Atlas Services Group Energy has been operating in the Energy and Marine industry for more than 30 years. The company has established an excellent reputation and holds important home market positions both inside and outside of Europe. Atlas Services Group works with professionals in the Energy and Marine industry and will further support the good work of Main Source Offshore People. Through the acquisition, all existing MSOP management and staff will transfer to Atlas. However, the team will continue to operate from the current Bristol site in order to minimise disruption to both clients and contractors.

Offshore Marine Management GmbH (OMM GmbH) has announced the appointment of Managing Director Klaus Klingelhöller to the company. Klaus joined OMM GmbH in early July of this year, bringing to the role over 25 years’ experience of working within the renewables industry both on and offshore. OMM: New Maintenance Service to Renewables Sector

Offshore Marine Management (OMM) has launched a new maintenance support service for offshore renewables operators. With little existing guidance and no legislation currently in place, operators may not be conducting the maintenance they need in order to guarantee the integrity of their assets – or they might be spending too much on completing unnecessary routine servicing. Offshore Marine Academy Trainees Graduate into Jobs

OMM Completes Cable Work at Greater Gabbard

Offshore Marine Management (OMM) has completed a contract with Fluor for the installation of 36 inter-array cables at the Greater Gabbard wind farm. Originally contracted to install 29 cables, the remit of OMM’s work was expanded during the course of the project to encompass provision of a full range of installation services for 36 inter-array cables, including front end pre-engineering support, installation and the delivery of a final report using in-house survey capabilities. Work was completed using the 122m vessel Deep Cygnus. Greater Gabbard is a 504MW offshore wind farm, located 25 kilometres off the Suffolk coast. OMM Launches New Business

Offshore Marine Management (OMM) has launched a new survey and subsea business this week, which will focus on surveying, cable and structural subsea inspection and subsea engineering. Recently appointed Director of Survey and Subsea, Arron Burrows said this new business offers clients an all-inclusive “one stop shop” for cable solutions - with survey, inspection and final deliverables - and will mean an overall better service. The new business offers data analysis and management using the latest hardware and software technology to support cable-related works both onshore and offshore. This includes a geographic information system (GIS) suite complete with digital video data integration for annual inspection data integrity and remedial activity monitoring.

P&O Welcomes Cable Installation Vessel

P&O Maritime Services has announced the arrival of its Multipurpose DP2 Cable Installation vessel, the CS European Supporter, to Tyneside in the UK. Following an extensive conversion, the European Supporter has been equipped to install inter-array power cables between wind turbines in the rapidly expanding UK European Offshore Renewables market. Furthermore, the vessel has retained its capability to install fiber optic cable for the Telecommunications sector and was built to provide the Oil & Gas industry with a range of Light Intervention, WROV, Construction and Decommission Support Services.

Offshore Marine Services GmbH Appoints Rhenus

Offshore Marine Services GmbH (OMS) appointed Rhenus Midgard GmbH & Co. KG as its exclusive vessel agency in Germany. Bremen based OMS has signed an agreement with Rhenus to act as vessel agent to all vessels under OMS charter or contract operating in German waters and ports. It is a rolling contract with an initial 12-month period from January to December this year. OMS is part of Offshore Marine Management (OMM), a growing independent provider of managed marine solutions to the offshore renewables, subsea telecoms and oil and gas industries. Rhenus, one of Europe’s leading logistics service providers, was chosen by OMS to facilitate the company’s ongoing and future workload in German waters.

Bolton Joins OMM as Director Ops & Maintenance

Subsea cable specialist, Offshore Marine Management (OMM) has strengthened its position in operation and maintenance with the recruitment of industry specialist, Stephen Bolton to the newly created position of Director of Operations and Maintenance. Stephen has more than 10 years experience in the emerging renewable energy market, in both the onshore and offshore wind sectors. His background includes his recent work as Offshore Operations Implementation Manager at RWE Innogy where he established one of the industry’s first dedicated teams to focus on the operations and maintenance methodology for large far shore wind farms on a portfolio basis. On establishing the strategy, he was responsible for its implementation on the Gwynt y Mor and Nord See Ost projects, among others.

Sheringham Shoal Wind Farm Guard Vessel

A guard vessel is now in operation on the Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm to ensure the safety of marine traffic around the foundation installation sites and along the export cable corridor. The 118-ft vessel, Jadi, has been contracted from UK-based marine solutions company, Offshore Marine Management. Her key role is to assist the heavy-lift vessel, Svanen, which is now installing the monopiles and transition pieces, by alerting other vessels such as fishing and sailing boats, of the location of its eight anchor buoys and ensuring they stay clear of the construction area.

New Headquarters for Offshore Marine

One of the UK’s marine management and engineering solutions companies, Offshore Marine Management (OMM), has moved to new larger headquarters following a period of exceptional growth over the past 12 months. Despite the economic climate, OMM has continued to grow during the last year as it has improved its national and international market position in the offshore renewable energy, telecommunications, and oil and gas industries. To cater for the growth and allow for further development, the OMM headquarters has moved to offices in Colston Tower in Bristol City Centre. The offices will give OMM the space to increase its current 25-strong team over the coming period.
