Hoover Debuts Offshore Acid Tanks
Hoover Container Solutions, a provider of chemical tanks, cargo carrying units and related products and services, has introduced acid tanks intended for transport and storage of a range of corrosive liquids and chemicals as the newest addition to its offshore product line. Available for short- or long-term rental periods or for purchase, Hoover’s offshore acid tanks are constructed using carbon steel for the vessel, piping, valves, instruments and welds to withstand offshore service, with corrosion-resistant carbon steel used to construct the external frame of the tank.
Hoover Adds to Offshore Product Line
Hoover Container Solutions, a subsidiary of Hoover Group, Inc., has added a new DOT / DNV certified Mud Skip / Cutting Box to its offshore product line for transportation and safe handling of hydrocarbon contaminated drill cuttings to and from offshore platforms. The mud skips / cutting boxes have patented sliding doors and a removable crank handle, and the units provide a safe and efficient means for containment of drilling waste for transportation to treatment or disposal sites.
Kongsberg Complete J-lay DP3 Vessel Automation Retrofit
Kongsberg Maritime has completed the installation and commissioning of an integrated bridge and automation solution during a large-scale retrofit of the Saipem 7000, an advanced Semi-submersible crane and pipelaying (J-lay) DP3 vessel. The Saipem 7000 retrofit was a ‘Full Picture’ project for Kongsberg Maritime, which featured replacement of several key systems including Automation, Thruster control, Dynamic Positioning, Ballast control and Integrated Bridge System. Mariner Omnipure M55 Selected for Australian Patrol Boats
The Mariner Omnipure sewage treatment system from Severn Trent De Nora has been installed on Cape St George, a new patrol boat designed and constructed by Austal for the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service. Cape St George is the first in a series of eight patrol boats to be delivered to the owners between March 2013 and February 2015, which will all be outfitted with the Mariner Omnipure M5508 system. The contract was secured through HMA-POGC of Australia. The new Cape Class patrol fleet was designed and constructed by Austal, a global defense prime contractor.
