Thailand's PTT in Advanced Talks with Qatar for LNG Deal - Sources

Thailand's largest energy company, state-controlled PTT, is in advanced talks with Qatar for a 15-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply deal, four trading sources told Reuters.The oil and gas conglomerate is negotiating a supply of 1 or 2 million tonnes per annum (mtpa), according to different figures cited by the sources, in what would be the latest in a spate of deals by Asian buyers to lock in long term supplies.A fifth industry source said that both companies are in "serious negotiations"…

Nigerian Offshore Equipment Facility Taking Shape

Kaztec Engineering announced that construction of its Phase 1 Lagos factory is now underway. Kaztec, a subsidiary of the Chrome Group a leading West African oil and gas conglomerate, intend to fabricate drilling and production platforms and other specialized structures for the oil and gas industry at the new plant. Following the completion of the first phase, Kaztec expects to commence development of a second phase of the fabrication yard, which is expected to be completed by mid- to late-2014. Snake Island Integrated Free Zone is an industrial free zone facility and port development strategically located in the coastal waterways of Lagos, with immediate access to the open seas. Addax Petroleum Limited is a technical partner in Kaztec's fabrication yard project.

Fibertown Provides Data Center Solution for Maersk Oil

FIBERTOWN, a premier provider of high availabilityHouston data centers and business continuity offices has announced that the Houston division of Danish oil and shipping company, Maersk Oil, selected Fibertown data centers for high-performance colocation of its mission critical and disaster recovery systems. The growing oil and gas conglomerate will leverage the private gateway between FIBERTOWN colocation facilities to communicate between its production systems in Houston and disaster recovery systems in Bryan/College Station. “The crucial requirements for Maersk Oil were finding a colocation provider with no history of downtime and the ability to help them grow with no restrictions,” said Brandon Perryman, senior vice president for FIBERTOWN.
